HCS Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

Haryana Public Service Commission sets age limit for the candidates. The age limit varies for different posts. Generally, candidates must be between 18 and 42 years old. Age relaxation is applicable for certain categories, providing opportunities for candidates falling within the specified age range to apply for the Haryana Civil Services exam.

Age Relaxation

Haryana PSC offers age relaxation to candidates belonging to specific categories as per government norms. This provision allows candidates from reserved categories to avail relaxation in the upper age limit, providing them with extended opportunities to apply for the Haryana Civil Services exam.

HPSC HCS – Nationality/Citizenship

To be eligible for the Haryana Civil Service examination, candidates must fulfill one of the following conditions:

• be an Indian citizenship.
• be a citizen of Nepal.
• be a citizen of Bhutan.
• be a Tibetan refugee who entered India prior to January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent residence.
• be a person of Indian origin who has relocated to India with the intent of establishing permanent residency. These individuals must have originated from countries like Pakistan, Burma, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Zaire, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, or Vietnam.

In case a certificate of eligibility is required to prove the nationality of a candidate, he/she may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given to him/her only after the Government of India has issued the necessary eligibility certificate to him/her.

HPSC HCS – Educational Qualification

Candidates aspiring to apply for the Haryana Civil Services exam must have a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized government college, as per the eligibility criteria for education qualification set by Haryana PSC. It’s important to note that candidates with a diploma are not eligible.

However, those in their final year of graduation can apply, provided they obtain their degree before the interview and document verification stages. This ensures that candidates have the necessary educational qualifications to be considered for the examination.

Number of Attempt for HPSC HCS

Haryana PSC has not set any limit for number of attempts in the Haryana Civil Services exam. However, candidates must meet the age limit specified by the commission to fulfill Haryana Civil Services eligibility. Candidates can go for the exam until their upper age limit.

Haryana PSC Physical Measurements

Physical Standard is required for Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). So the candidate who is willing to apply for DSP post, must check their physical fitness according to the criteria given by the Haryana PSC.

HCS Eligibility Criteria: Important Points

Apart from all the HPSC HCS Eligibility 2023 and relaxations mentioned above, there are a lot of points that a candidate has to keep in mind while filling the application form:

• If the candidate belongs to the sports category then he will be given all the reservation in accordance with his category. However, to take the benefits of the sports quota the candidate has to submit the Sports Gradation certificate issued by the Haryana government.
• Once they fulfill all the eligibility criteria, candidates must ensure that they are very well versed with the Haryana Civil Services Syllabus and exam pattern beforehand.
• If the female candidate applying for the examination is married, then she has to submit the certificates related to the category from her paternal side only.
