MNS Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2023 – Overview
The Indian Army is recruiting Staff Nurses for the Military Nursing Service (MNS) position nationwide. The application deadline is December 26, 2023. Admit cards can be downloaded in the first week of January 2024 from the NTA website. The Computer-Based Test (CBT) is scheduled for January 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Indian Army Military Nursing Services Exam Pattern
Mode of Examination:
The Military Nursing Service: Selection for Short Service Commission (SSC) 2023-24 is conducted exclusively in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
Medium of Question Papers:
The question papers are available in English only.
Scheme of Examination: The exam consists of one paper covering subjects based on the BSc (Nursing) syllabus, including Basic Nursing, Clinical Specialties, General Intelligence, and General English. There are 30 questions for Basic Nursing, 100 for Clinical Specialties, and 10 each for General Intelligence and General English. The exam duration is 150 minutes, and it is conducted in CBT mode.

- Correct Answer or the Most Appropriate Answer: One mark (+1)
- Incorrect Answer: No mark (0)

Qualifying Mark: The qualifying mark for the CBT is 50%, and the list of qualified candidates will be published on the NTA website joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Method of Resolving Ties:
In case two or more candidates have the same total NTA scores, ties will be resolved as follows:
- NTA score in Clinical Specialties: The candidate with a higher score in Clinical Specialties will be given preference.
- NTA score in Basic Nursing: If the tie persists, the candidate with a higher score in Basic Nursing will be favored.
- NTA score in General Intelligence: Further ties will be broken by considering the NTA score in General Intelligence.
- NTA score in General English: If needed, the NTA score in General English will be taken into account.
- Candidate with fewer incorrect answers: Preference will be given to the candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers and a higher number of correct answers in all test subjects.
- Older in Age: If the tie persists, the older candidate will be given preference.
- Application Number: Finally, if the tie remains unresolved, preference will be given based on the application number in ascending order.
Important Note: For Multiple Choice Questions
Candidates must choose the one option that corresponds to the correct or most appropriate answer when answering a question. If there are any issues or discrepancies after the key verification challenges, they will be addressed as follows:
- Correct Answer or Most Appropriate Answer: Candidates will receive one mark (+1).
- Incorrect Option Marked: No marks (0) will be awarded for any incorrectly marked options.
- Unanswered/Marked for Review: No marks (0) will be given for questions left unanswered or marked for review.
- More Than One Correct Option: One mark (+1) will be awarded to those who marked any of the correct options.
- All Options Are Correct: One mark (+1) will be given to all candidates who attempted the question.
- No Correct Options Found or Question is Wrong/Dropped: Full marks will be awarded to all candidates who appeared, regardless of whether the question was attempted or not.
The duration of the test is 2 1/2 hours.
