Communication skills

Listening Skills

Listening skills are very important and without listening properly one cannot be a good communicator. It is also essential to understand what the other person is saying in order to understand their expectations.

It is an essential skill that needs to be developed in administrative jobs where there will be situations where one needs to listen to issues and problems of the general public.

Non-Verbal Communication

Non-verbal communication refers to the body language, gestures, tone and eye contact of the person who is communicating with the other person. It gives away indications that whether you are really involved in the conversation or not.

It is necessary to pay attention to someone who is speaking to you or when you are speaking to someone else, as it signifies that you are interested in this conversation and trying to understand the situation.

Do not stare at the other person as may make them uncomfortable, also trying to avoid eye contact may indicate that either you are ignoring or trying to hide something.

Empathy

Empathy is one of the essential types of interpersonal skills, it is the process of understanding and sharing the feeling of another person.

Respect

The statement that respect is earned is true in many ways. People around you will communicate more with you when you show respect to them and for their ideas.
