Is B.Ed Compulsory for CTET: The CTET examination is conducted every year to gauge the capability of teachers to teach primary and upper primary classes. Applicants interested in applying in the teaching sector can flourish in their careers by clearing the examination. B.Ed for CTET is mandatory and based on the exam, candidates can apply for vacancies in various government and government-aided schools. CTET 2021 Eligibility
The following persons are eligible for appearing in the CTET.
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V:
Primary Stage
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
“Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” “(a) who has acquired the qualification or Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two year of such appointment as primary teacher”.
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
OR
Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to
appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines, circulated vide NCTE
letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses
(recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification
rd dated 23 August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Ed
A minimum score of 50 % for applicants with a degree either from Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Arts from a recognized university is necessary. A minimum of 50 % is required for a B.Ed for CTET. A grade point average of at least 55 % or any equivalent qualification is necessary for bachelor’s degree holders in technology or engineering with a concentration in science and mathematics.

- Candidates must pay the CTET exam fee by E-Challan with Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank for offline mode.

- Candidates do payments either by Net Banking or Debit card by online gateway payment facility or by downloading E-Challan form from CTET website.

- After the confirmation of payment, the generation of the confirmation page takes place.
- If fees are paid by E-Challan, the hard copy of the confirmation page has to be retained for future use.
