The primary responsibilities of an LIC AAO are as follows:

  1. LIC AAOs have to help the Administrative Officer or the head of the department in supervising the general functioning of the department.
  2. An assistant administrative officer is in-charge of inspecting and analyzing currently running policies.
  3. Responsible for planning new schemes and/or policies.
  4. Processing policy applications.
  5. Creating and maintaining databases
  6. Interacting with prospective customers, sales personnel, vendors etc.
  7. Also responsible claim processing both filing and management of claims that come his way.
  8. Responsible for interacting with clients and resolving their queries.
  9. He or she needs to communicate across various departments and co-ordinate work.
  10. Needs to performing other duties time to time as specified officer-in-charge.
  11. They have to perform any task assigned by the department head.
  12. Negotiating with Agents/Development Officers.
  13. AAOs are undertake underwriting job sometimes.
  14. Since it is an administrative job, AAOs are not expected to procure more business to the corporation because that is the job of agents.
