Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recently made a significant mark in the town of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. He initiated the construction and dedication of various development projects, collectively valued at around Rs 4200 crore. The Prime Minister emphasized the extensive development of infrastructure in the border regions. In the past nine years, over 4,200 kilometers of roads, 250 bridges, and 22 tunnels have been constructed. Empowering Small Farmers with PM Kisan Samman Nidhi

Prime Minister Modi highlighted the government’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of small farmers in Uttarakhand. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, farmers in the state have received more than Rs 2200 crore to enhance their lives and ensure their prosperity.

Promoting Unique Uttarakhand Crops: Shri Anna

Shri Anna, a traditional crop of Uttarakhand, has been recognized as a valuable asset to be promoted on a global scale. A nationwide campaign has been initiated to support this crop, benefiting small farmers in Uttarakhand.

Women-Led Development and Empowerment

Several initiatives have been launched to empower women, including providing permanent housing, constructing toilets, offering gas connections, opening bank accounts, providing free medical care, and distributing essential food supplies. The Har Ghar Jal Yojana has brought piped water to 11 lakh families in Uttarakhand, and the introduction of drones for women’s self-help groups is expected to modernize agriculture and transportation.

Tourism and Pilgrimage Development: Rs 4200 Crore Projects

The Prime Minister celebrated the government’s success in boosting tourism and pilgrimage in Uttarakhand. The Char Dham Yatra now attracts approximately 50 lakh devotees. Significant reconstruction work has been completed in Kedarnath Dham and is underway in Shri Badrinath Dham. Ropeways in Kedarnath Dham and Hemkunt Sahib will enhance accessibility.

Enhancing Connectivity and Infrastructure

The Prime Minister stressed the government’s focus on enhancing connectivity, including the Chardham Mega Project, All Weather Road, and the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project. The UDAN scheme aims to expand affordable air services in the region, and several road projects are set to improve convenience for the public and boost tourism.

Preparing for Natural Disasters

Uttarakhand is prone to natural disasters, and the Prime Minister announced a plan to invest 4000 crore rupees in projects over the next 4-5 years to prepare for such events. These facilities will ensure quick relief and rescue operations in the event of a disaster.

Inaugurated Rs 4200 Crore Projects

The Prime Minister inaugurated numerous projects, including rural roads and bridges, upgrades to Block Development Offices (BDO), improvements funded by the Central Road Fund, national highways upgrades, drinking water projects, the construction of Tharkot artificial lake, establishment of a 132 KV Power Transmission Line, bridges across Uttarakhand, and the construction of a state-of-the-art building for the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA).

Foundation Stones Laid for Future Initiatives

The government has laid the foundation stones for upcoming initiatives, such as the Poly-House Scheme, high-density intensive apple orchards, National Highway road upgrades, projects to enhance disaster preparedness and resilience, development in model degree colleges, improved healthcare facilities, sports infrastructure, and the enhancement of temple infrastructure.
