RBI Assistant is a clerical position. Selected candidates will be assigned to various regional offices of the RBI, which are primarily located in state capitals. Candidates hired for the RBI Assistant position will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Candidates who have been assigned as RBI Assistants will have multiple opportunities to advance to higher levels.
  • To be promoted to the officer level, one must serve for a minimum of two years and complete a two-year bond period.
  • Following that, they must apply for and appear in the promotion test.
    There are two ways for an RBI assistant to advance to the rank of Grade A officer.
  • Normal procedure: In this procedure, candidates must pass a written test and then be selected as an officer based on their experience or seniority in the bank.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience as an RBI Assistant with a JAIIB or CAIIB diploma from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) and a graduation degree.

Selected candidates as an RBI Assistant will be able to get promotions on various officer grade posts, which are listed below-

  1. Scale 1 – Officer/Assistant Manager, Grade -A
  2. Scale 2 – Manager, Grade- B
  3. Scale 3 – Senior Manager, Grade- C
  4. Scale 4 – Chief Manager, Grade -D
