Success Story of Pramod – Cleared SBI PO

The motivational success story of Pramod, who initially joined a coaching centre to prepare for the banking exams but later chose to switch to online preparation. Soon, he went onto clear SBI PO this year with the help of online study materials and mock tests.

Here is his inspiring story:

Hi everyone, I am Pramod and I have cracked SBI PO this year. I would like to share some tips that helped me in cracking the exam. First of all anyone can crack banking exams irrespective of their streams and backgrounds. I completed B.Tech in 2016 and started preparing for banking in 2017. I joined a coaching center but that’s not necessary because there are a lot of online sources now to learn the basics which are very important and you need to be thoroughly aware of every concept. 

Preparation Tips:

Prepare continuously till you get the job. Having said that, it’s very important to keep yourself determined and focused. Practice is the key to success, so practice as much as you can. This will eventually improve your speed, accuracy and help you in selecting the questions that need to be skipped in prelims and mains.

Initially, try and focus more on the sections where you are stronger. But in the last few weeks, avoid starting any new topic and keep practicing the topics which you have already covered in the initial months. The next main step after clearing your doubts is Mock Tests. It is very important to attempt  mock tests in order to keep track of your performance and be acquainted with the latest and updated pattern of questions.

For quant and reasoning there is no need to follow any books. YouTube channels are very helpful in learning the basics and tricks. For English, the same online sources is sufficient but mostly I learnt from the mocks itself. For prelims speed is the most important thing which can be attained by practicing a lot of mock tests and daily quizzes from Oliveboard. 

In quants, try to keep miscellaneous problems as your last preference. For mains, you need to be good with your  basics and don’t expect a consistent pattern for mains because it changes every time. For current affairs, I referred last 6 months weekly pdfs and Bolt from Oliveboard. Try to prepare for current affairs from the beginning if you are confident about clearing the prelims. Moreover, try to go through the questions that are completely new and based on the latest pattern  because sometimes they can be easily solved with some shortcuts. 

For the interview round, prepare by watching the sample interview videos of the aspirants who have cracked the examination and then keep your skills and preparation strategy accordingly. Your confidence, genuineness, management skills matters more than your answer. Try to prepare for mains from beginning itself instead of prelims as preparing for mains after prelims result won’t help u to clear mains. Choosing the right questions to be attempted and skipped is the key to clear mains.
