Inspiring Success Story of Shubham Balodi

My name is Shubham Balodi. I was born and brought up in Uttarakhand. I did my schooling from there itself. After that, I moved to Delhi to pursue my graduation. I graduated in 2018 with a degree in chemistry and have been preparing for bank exams since then.

I started preparing for bank exams in 2018 in the final semester of graduation. At that point of time, I was not able to apply for various exams because of age constraints. I did appear for various clerical level exams, but found disappointment everywhere. Finally, in August 2020, I turned 21 and was eligible to apply for IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I and IBPS PO. As of writing this, I have cleared RRB Officer Scale-I.

Quantitative Aptitude

Watched free videos on YouTube. Those were enough for clarity of concept. After that, I completely relied on mock tests. Besides that, I used to solve 10 questions each of missing number series, wrong number series, variable comparison, and simplification/approximation. (Score- 36.875/50) 

Reasoning

Again, watched free videos on YouTube and then just practiced as many questions as possible. (Score- 30.9375/50)

English

For English, I just took mock tests and focused on them. If you like reading newspapers, you can do that. Otherwise, mock tests would suffice. (Score- 30/40) 

General Awareness

This was a weak point for me. Memorizing stuff was always a challenge for me. I followed monthly compilations of 2-3 sources. Revising is the key to ace this section. For the static portion, read Banking Bolt by Oliveboard. (Score- 19/40)

Computer Awareness

Read CA Bolt by Oliveboard. I just attempted the simple questions in this section. (Score- 11.125/ 20) 

Interview

For the interview, I first revised Banking Bolt by Oliveboard. Then I prepared a list of a few typical HR questions and corresponding answers for them. Then finally, I read the current affairs of the week that my interview was in. My interview was below par and lasted just 4-5 minutes. (Score- 62/100)

Aptitude development takes some time. So, don’t give up easily. Try to be consistent and follow a specific schedule. Give your 100%, and hope for the best.
