World Wildlife Day 2023: World Wildlife Day is celebrated every year on the 3rd of March. It is celebrated to honor the signing of CITES between different nations in 1973. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES) is basically a mutual agreement between various countries to conserve wild flora and fauna.
With the Increasing population, the risk of wild species’ extinction has risen at a very high rate. Each year World Wildlife Day is celebrated with different themes in order to create awareness and conserve the wildlife of the world.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the signing of the CITES. The main motive of this day is to create awareness about preserving the Wildlife flora & fauna of the world. United Nations General Assembly has marked the 3rd March as the adoption of the day of the agreement of the CITES.
