LIC ADO is more of a sales administrative job. It includes recruiting Insurance Agents to generate leads from customers. It also includes training and supervision of the recruited agents.
Job Profile
LIC AAO
The service conditions will be applicable as per the prevalent rules of the LIC from time to time. The advertised posts are regular and selected candidates, on the appointment, are liable to posting or subsequent transfer anywhere in India. Most of the vacancies are in the mofussil branches of LIC. As such, after selection and successful completion of training, candidates will be posted for a minimum period of three years in mofussil branches outside their home zones. The following are a part of the LIC AAO Job Profile:
- Query Resolution of Clients
- Analyzing and Auditing old policies etc.
- Processing Policy Claims of the customers
- Planning and Creating new Policies to attract new customers
- Overlooking Inter-departmental coordination related to claims processing.
Probation:
A candidate after appointment shall be on probation for a period of a minimum of one year to a maximum of two years from the date of joining. During the period of probation, the candidates will undergo continuous assessment as per the Corporation’s extant policy. If any candidate fails to achieve the minimum standard performance, the Corporation may dismiss them as per their policy.
Guarantee Bond:
Before joining as a Probationer, candidates will have to give the undertaking to serve LIC for a minimum period of four years from the date of joining (including the probationary period) failing which, he/she or his /her heirs, executors, administrators will be liable to pay liquidated damages of Rs.5,00,000/-only (Rupees Five Lakhs only) + GST or the sum of amount the Executive Director (Personnel) may prescribe from time to time. GST or any other tax payable shall also be borne by the candidate. The candidate will have to submit a Deed of Indemnity and surety at his cost, duly stamped and notarized, the stamp value of which will be as applicable to the State in which the deed is executed by the candidate.

Pay Scale: Rs. 53600/- per month in the scale of Rs. 53600- 2645(14) –90630– 2865(4) –102090
Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale inclusive of House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, etc wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city will be approximately Rs. 92870/- per month in ‘A’ Class city. Other benefits are Defined Contributory Pension, Gratuity, LTC, Cash Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance, Vehicle Loan (2-wheeler/4 wheeler) as per rules, meal coupon, reimbursement of the cost of Briefcase/leather bags, mobile handset, supply of dailies and magazines and tea/coffee, mobile expenses, etc. as per rules.

LIC ADO
The following are a few of the duties and responsibilities of a LIC ADO:
- Accomplish all Sales oriented tasks
- Reach the maximum number of people and complete the assigned targets of selling.
- Analyze the performance of each agent
- Motivating to sell maximum LIC policies
- Assigning target quota
Probation
The probation period is of 1 year but can be extended to 2 years. After the selection, ADO has to serve the apprenticeship period. During this period, candidates who are not selected in the LIC Employee category will be paid a fixed stipend during the whole apprenticeship period. Candidates who have joined except the Employee category will be paid the stipend as per the basic pay of the Development Officer.
There will be a stipend of Rs.51.500 for each month of apprenticeship.
A Probationary Development Officer at a specified Headquarter in the area will be placed on the scale of ₹35,650-2200(2)-40,050-2595(2)-45,240-2645(17)-90,205 plus allowances and other benefits as per the rules in force.
Salary
On appointment as a Probationary Development Officer, the basic pay of ₹ 35650/- per month (except for LIC Employee Category candidates) in the scale of 35650-2200(2)-40050-2595(2)-45240-2645 (17)-90205 and other admissible allowances as per rules shall be payable. Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale will be inclusive of House Rent Allowance & City Compensatory Allowance, wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city. It will be approximately ₹ 56000/- in an ‘A’ Class City.
Eligibility
While LIC ADO does not have many requirements to be eligible for applying, the post of AAO has a number of criteria for eligibility. This is because there are many different posts under AAO itself.

Age Criteria
The minimum Age shall be 21 years (completed) as of 01.01.2023. The maximum age shall not be more than 30 years (candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.01.1993 and not later than 01.01.2002 both days inclusive only are eligible )

- Maximum: 30 years
Educational Qualifications
A. For AAO (Generalist) – Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution.
B. For AAO (IT) – Graduation degree in Engineering in Computer Science, IT or Electronics, or an MCA, or an MSC(Computer Science) from a recognized Indian University/Institution.
C. For AAO (Chartered Accountant) – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidate should have passed the Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and completion of Articles as presented by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The candidate should be an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
D. For AAO (Actuarial) – Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidates should have compulsorily passed paper CT1 and CT5 plus 4 or more other papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. (Total 6 or more papers) as on the date of eligibility. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
E. For AAO (Rajbhasha) – Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi translation with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level OR Post-Graduate Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s degree level OR Post-Graduate Master’s Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at Bachelor’s degree level.

Candidates must be a citizen of India.
Education Qualification (as of 01/01/2023)
- The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University in India established under a statute/approved for the purpose of the Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai.
Age Limit (as of 01/01/2023)

- Descriptive tests of the English Language etc. will be of qualifying nature and the marks in the English Language will not be counted for ranking. A descriptive paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who qualify in the objective part of the main Examination.
- Candidate MUST pass each Section separately and should also obtain minimum marks in the aggregate to qualify for the online examinations (Preliminary and Main) and the interview.
- A descriptive test of the English Language etc. is of a qualifying nature and marks in this test will not be counted for ranking. The decision of LIC in this regard shall be final and binding on the candidates. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
LIC AAO Interview
Total Marks – 60
Marks obtained in the Main Examination only will be considered for shortlisting for interview and marks obtained in Main Examination + marks obtained in the Interview will be considered for the final merit listing of candidates.

Interview Process
Candidates who will qualify for the main examination will be appearing in the interview. In the final merit list, marks obtained in the main examination and interview will be considered. Interviews will be conducted for a total mark of 40.
