FCI Manager Posting Locations: FCI released the official notification for FCI Manager 2022 on the 24th of August, 2022. The online registration process for the recruitment exam has begun on the 27th of August and will close on the 26th of September. We urge the candidates to complete the process at the earliest. FCI Manager Posting Locations: The Zones

The Food Cooperation of India’s operations is divided across the country into 5 zones. These are-

• The North Zone
• The South Zone
• The East Zone
• The West Zone
• The North-East Zone

These five zones are further divided into regions, and each region has a regional office that answers the zonal office. All five zonal offices come under the purview of the Head Office of FCI located in New Delhi.

FCI Manager Posting Locations: Zonal Offices

The five zones have their zonal offices located in important cities. These zonal offices oversee the various regional offices that come under the said zone. Also, these five zonal offices are under the Head Office of FCI in New Delhi.

The locations for the five zonal offices are as follows-

• North Zone– Noida
• South Zone– Chennai
• East Zone– Kolkata
• West Zone– Mumbai
• North East Zone– Guwahati

These are the five main offices that FCI Managers can anticipate postings to. Depending on the post, FCI Managers will oversee the operations of these zones, and coordinate with the Regional Offices to ensure smooth operation.

Given below is the organizational structure of the FCI. The Headquarters are based in New Delhi and oversee the working of all five zones across the country. These zones are further divided into regions to make supervision easier.

The maximum vacancies and thus posting available are in the North Zone headed by the Noida Zonal Office. In 2019 too, the North Zone had about 187 vacancies.

The Posting Process

Candidates who are posted to a zone will mostly receive their transfers within the zone itself. Transfers can happen within different states that come under the zone. This is until the Manager is promoted to the post of Assistant General Manager or AGM. If a candidate is posted in a certain zone, it is unlikely that they get a transfer to a different zone until they’re promoted to the post of AGM.

Sensitive Posting Locations

FCI has designated certain locations as sensitive. According to the latest Transfer guidelines, employees that are posted to any of these particular locations, will not have a sensitive posting for the next 3 years.

These locations are-

• Punjab
• Haryana
• Uttar Pradesh
• Jammu and Kashmir
• Chhatisgarh
• Madhya Pradesh
• Andhra Pradesh
• Telengana
• Assam
• Odisha

For FCI Managers, a tenure at a station can be anywhere between 48 to 60 moths in a station.

• In case of a sensitive station, this tenure lasts 24 months, 36 months if extended.
• In case of being posted to the FCI Headquarters the tenure can last up to a maximum of 10 years.
• If posted to a regional/zonal office, officers can serve for a maximum of 10 years at a stretch or 15 years in entire service.
