Breaking new ground, Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, officially launched the Gyanodaya Express at the Katra railway station in the Reasi district. This pioneering initiative, also dubbed the “College on Wheels,” is set to revolutionize education by providing immersive and collaborative learning experiences for approximately 700 female students from universities in the Union Territory. The project’s goal is to redefine education by extending learning beyond the traditional confines of classrooms.

The Vision of Gyanodaya Express

Describing it as an “educational pilgrimage,” LG Sinha highlighted the initiative’s core mission to eliminate the boundaries of conventional classrooms and academic disciplines. The Gyanodaya Express aims to reshape education by fostering immersive, collaborative, and project-based learning experiences, establishing a model for innovative educational ventures in Jammu and Kashmir.

Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi

Taking inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi’s life, who embarked on a transformative train journey across the country, engaging with diverse communities, the Gyanodaya Express aligns with Gandhi’s principles of Satya (Truth) and Ahimsa (Non-violence). The initiative seeks to awaken society with universal and timeless values.

Journey of Empowerment

Beyond being a mere mode of transportation, the Gyanodaya Express offers a transformative journey for participating students. Accompanied by mentors, students will travel through different states, visiting centers of excellence such as the Indian Navy, ISRO, and Sabarmati Ashram. This exposure is carefully curated to provide students with fresh ideas, insights, and hands-on knowledge, nurturing a spirit of curiosity and innovation.
