Punjab TET Eligibility Criteria 2024
Education qualification stands as a crucial aspect of the PSTET Eligibility Criteria for candidates to apply for the exam. The PSTET Exam 2024 mandates specific educational qualifications depending on the post applied for.
There are two levels of posts under the PSTET exam 2024, Primary Teacher (Paper-I) and Upper Primary Teacher (Paper-II). Below is a detailed overview of the educational PSTET eligibility criteria for each paper:
Paper 1: Class I to V (Primary)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in line with NCTE guidelines.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Candidates with “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” are now eligible for becoming Teachers for Classes I-V: Primary Stage. However, such candidates must undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE within two years of their appointment as a primary teacher.
Paper 2: Class VI to VIII (Upper Primary)
- Graduation and passing or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), following NCTE guidelines.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
- Any candidate with a qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by NCTE is eligible to appear in the TET exam.
PSTET Age Limit 2024
- Nationality: Indian
- Number of Attempts: No limit
- Work Experience: Not Required
- Age limit: There is no lower or upper age limit for applying for PSTET 2024.
