How to Prepare General Intelligence and Reasoning for RRB NTPC

Online applications are invited by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) for the posts of Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC). The 1st stage Computer Based Test (CBT) is tentatively scheduled to be held on 15 December 2020. 1.RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2020

The recruitment process shall involve 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable), and Document Verification/Medical Examination. The syllabus for both stages is the same.

Each question carries one mark and there will be negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

General Intelligence and Reasoning section for the RRB NTPC exam is underestimated sometimes as it has less weightage of marks as well as a number of questions as compared to the General Awareness section. But in this reasoning section, a variety of topics are included in the syllabus which will help you improve your score in both the stages.

There is a composite duration for the RRB NTPC exam. Aspirants get around 50 to 60 seconds for each question. Hence, there is less time pressure here but the accuracy is essential.

2. Important Topics of Reasoning for RRB NTPC Exam

In the General Intelligence and Reasoning section, 30/35 questions were asked. Keep an aim to attempt all the questions.

Generally, the level of the exam is easy. Some questions of the moderate level are asked. Therefore this is the test of accuracy.

Apart from these topics the other topics which are included in the syllabus are – Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Jumbling, Data Sufficiency, Statement- Conclusion, Statement- Courses of Action, Decision-Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs, etc.

Questions on the Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Jumbling, and Interpretation of Graphs are of easy level. So, aspirants must keep in mind to attempt these topics first. There are fewer chances of mistakes and it will help you to save time for other more complex topics. Moderate levels of questions are asked from topics like Data Sufficiency, Statement- Conclusion, Statement- Courses of Action, and Decision-Making. These questions are a bit tricky and hence requires a maximum amount of focus and attention.
