Q1. How are you feeling after getting into the list of 100 people who got selected in SIDBI Grade A Exam?
Answer: I am very happy because SIDBI is one of the exams which many aspirants aspire to crack and I feel this is my big achievement to come into the list of 100 candidates after so much competition.
Q2. Why did you chose SIDBI? Why you wanted to go in SIDBI?
Answer: I wanted to look out the higher opportunities and regulatory body exams were one of them. SIDBI is the exam which came after a long time so I thought to give it a try.
Q3. How have you prepared for the exam from notification till the exam?
Answer: Once I joined SBI, my working time was 9 AM to 6 PM so it was difficult to manage but I planned my strategy in such a way that I do Current Affairs on one day, then reasoning on another, and similarly all subjects. Also, I used to give Oliveboard’s SIDBI Grade A Mock Test once in a week for sure & those were very useful. This helped me in judging where I am lacking behind & what part needs more attention & time.
Q4. SIDBI has a huge syllabus so how did you strategize your preparation so that you cover the complete syllabus till Phase 1?
Answer: My strategy was quite simple. I did utilize my weekends and did as much practice as I can. The syllabus was quite similar to bank exams but descriptive part was different. For descriptive, I focused on reading newspapers, current topics that were trending , etc.
Q5. How did you prepare the descriptive part of SIDBI Grade A Exam?
Answer: So, for descriptive, I wrote some articles and I was sure that I have to break it in 3 parts. The introduction must be brief & the body must contain meaningful points. As the word limit was just 250 words, the conclusion must also be good. The weekly Oliveboard’s Mock test I was giving helped me a lot as I was very focused on that.
Q6. Did you start practicing mock tests from beginning or just before the exam?
Answer: I knew that before the exam, it will be very difficult to practice all the stuff so I focused on giving Mock Tests right from the beginning.
Q7. Everybody faces fear when they know they have to appear for the real interview, how did you prepare for that?
Answer: I feel confidence is the key. One must believe in one’s abilities as when we are nervous we tend to perform low. Sufficient Practice & Daily or Weekly Mocks helped a lot in preparing. For Interview, I purchased the Oliveboard’s Personalized Interview Batch.

Answer: It was extremely good. After the Phase 1, I purchased this course and it was very systematic. Current Affairs were covered in a more systematic matter and apart from that, the focus was on MSMEs, features of MSMEs, etc. In the interview, they asked me about the products that SIDBI launched and the course helped me a lot in answering those questions. The mock interviews were so good, the panel was experienced. During mock interviews, I was not able to answer some questions and I got the advice of reading more about the SIDBI Stuff. I read about the products launched by SIDBI & more, this helped me a lot.
Q9. So, tell us about the personality side of the SIDBI Grade A Mock Interview?
Answer: It was also about how you need to greet the panel members. The answers to the questions must be crisp. If you know the answer, then be confident with the answer as there will be the time when they will analyze you whether you are confident with your answers or not. The Oliveboard’s Mock Interview Course already prepared me for all such situations which helped me a lot in the real interview.
Q10. As you are already from Banking Industry and have worked as SBI PO, they might have asked you questions on the same, what type of questions they asked regarding SBI?
Answer: First & Foremost, they wanted to know why do you want to leave SBI. Then they asked about the products launched by SBI. I also worked for LCPC which is for back office, so many questions were asked from there.
Q11. Was the interview the pressure one or normal?
Answer: Five members were there and it was on a flow. Some were difficult & some were expected so overall it was a good interview session.
Q12. Giving the mock interviews & mock tests are important. How much do you agree?
Answer: Yes, it is very important because no matter how much you prepare, if you do not get prepared for the time limit then it is of no use. Everyone knows that it’s all about managing within the stipulated time so I will say, focus on Mock Tests & Interviews.
Q13. For Freshers, what would you say? For someone, who haven’t cracked any exam yet?
Answer: I will suggest go step by step. If you are starting early, then you must make a good plan. Take the course from Oliveboard and go topic wise. One you get accustomed with topics, attempt mock tests. Focus on areas where you need time like Puzzles so Practice more. Weekly Mock Tests are mandatory.
Q14. Any Advice you want to give to future aspirants?
Answer: A bit more practice and planning will help in cracking the exam. I feel Current Affairs is the game changer in any exam so remain updated for the India & World Current Affairs. Analyze where are you lacking behind and keep a thorough read of all the happenings. It is very important to revise at least a month so that you don’t forget.
