Student READY Program Launch Date

The Student READY Program, launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 25 July 2015, is an integral part of undergraduate education in various subjects such as Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering, Bio Technology, Dairy Technology, Fisheries, Food Technology, Forestry, Horticulture, and Home Science (now Community Science).

Implementation and Benefits

Stipend Rates

• Stipend rates have been enhanced to Rs 3000/month per student for a maximum of six months during village/rural training.
• Additional Rs 500/month provided for operational expenses.

Mode of Payment

• Stipend commences upon joining the program for a maximum of six months.
• Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) linked to AADHAR ensures timely payment into the student’s bank account.

Termination of Stipend

• Stipend termination if the student leaves the course prematurely or changes discipline without valid reasons.

Eligibility Criteria

Program Accreditation

• Students must pursue UG programs accredited by the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAEAB) of ICAR, New Delhi.

Merit and Conduct

• Students must maintain merit and good conduct as certified by the Head of College/University/Institution.

Restrictions

• Prohibits participation in agitations/strikes and undertaking part-time jobs during the program.
