Success Story of Kushagra Parashar- Cleared CANARA PO 2018, IBPS CLERK 2018, IBPS PO 2018 (AIR-90)

Read the Success Story of Kushagra Parashar, who feared banking examinations after his first failure, but later went on to clear Canara PO, IBPS Clerk (State Rank-16) & IBPS PO (AIR-90).

Here is his success story:

My journey was kind of unexpected for me with so many turns and I will start it by introducing myself. My name is Kushagra Parashar. I am from Bharatpur and did my graduation and preparation from Jaipur. I had completed my graduation in Mechanical Engineering in 2016 from Jagannath Gupta Institute of Engineering & Technology.

After graduation, I started searching for job opportunities in the private sector and I also gave my first competitive examination of RRB Clerk in 2016 but I missed it by 8 marks in prelims. One thing that went wrong was that I gave this examination without preparation and thus I wasn’t able to get good marks. Resulting to this failure I developed a kind of fear towards banking examination.and after some time I got a job in HDFC Bank but left it after some time as I was not satisfied with it.

Then I started preparing for SSC examination. I went for coaching but due to some internal management problem the only syllabus of mathematics was completed in a good manner and it took around 7-8 months. After that I didn’t take any coaching for any examination. My first SSC exam was SSC CHSL  2016 and I cleared both prelims and mains of the exam but wasn’t able to clear the typing test with 30% of accuracy. During this period I also gave CGL 2017 and cleared prelims but as my result came before the night of my SSC CGL mains and due to a very unexpected paper I wasn’t able to clear Mains of CGL 2017. Then I gave SSC CHSL 2017 and cleared prelims and gave mains whose result is still pending in the Supreme Court.

This was the turning point of my preparation as I was exhausted and frustrated because of not being able to crack any exam. At that time I again thought about preparing for banking examination and at that time IBPS PO notification was out so I filled the form and started preparing for it. Soon with some preparation I was able to clear the prelims which gave me a lot of confidence. I also give ESIC SSO  but failed in prelims by 0.75 marks. I also applied for IBPS Clerk and Canara Bank PO pgdbf program and by God’s grace I was able to clear all of them.

My first success was being selected in Canara pgdbf program and later my hard work showed true colors and I also got selected in IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk.  I got Canara bank in IBPS PO and Bank of Baroda in IBPS Clerk .

I am sharing my marks in different examinations

Canara bank pgdbf Prelims : 149.25/200

Ibps PO Prelims : 62.25/100

Ibps PO Mains : 108.6/225

Ibps PO Total : 53.42/100

Ibps Clerk Prelims : 88/100

Ibps Clerk Mains:120.5 /200

Here is my Preparation Strategy:

Quants & Reasoning

I prepared Maths and Reasoning with the help of various website’s daily quizzes which helped me in getting good command over concepts and speed in solving the question as in quizzes question are in mixed and timed manner.

English

Now I come to my strongest part English. I will advice Neetu Singh’s “Plinth to Paramount” for grammar part and then practice quizzes. And for most important vocabulary part I will suggest to read “Word Power Made Easy” and specifically the commonly used words that are given in the end of this book. There are around 1500-1600 words and I will give advice of learning them all as I have done. It will help you so much as I haven’t found any new word in editorials and in exam after reading them all.

GK

I prepared current affairs with the help of monthly GK BOLT from Oliveboard and scored decent marks in exams.

Role of Oliveboard:

The most important thing is the mock test. I took test series from Oliveboard. Attempting mock tests helped me so much to understand the nature of paper and manage the time during the real examination.

So I will advise every student to first have a grasp of all the important concepts and then do as much practice as possible with the help of various platforms as much as they can because practice is the best way to success.

Tip to Aspirants:

So the tip which I want to give to the aspirants is never lose hope as your parents have you as their only hope. Things can turn around any time, you just need to do hard work and have faith in your ability and God, and all will be good in the end.
