1. Inspiring Success Story of Zeba Farheen

1.1 Introduction

Hello, I am Zeba Farheen from Amethi. I have cleared IBPS SO IT 2019 and IBPS CLERK 2019. Firstly, I would like to thank my family members, educators, and friends who supported me at every step and special thanks to OLIVEBOARD.

I have done B.Tech in CSE. At first, I didn’t have any clue where I should start as I was juggling between Banking exams and Technical exams. After giving the first few exams I realized that Technical exams are not working for me. So I took a total shift from Technical to Non-Technical and after referring to various sites, I found Oliveboard which played an immense role in my preparation. The concept videos, Mock Tests, and Live classes of Oliveboard were extremely helpful to me.

Journey and Exams I have appeared: I had failed on an epic scale usually by a few points but One can feel the taste of success only if he failed.

  • SBI PO 2018- Prelims (failed), Missed by 0.50 marks.
  • SBI Junior Associate 2018- Prelims (failed), Missed by 0.25 marks.
  • SBI PO 2019– Prelims (cleared) & Mains (Failed), not prepared for Mains. You should start preparing for mains before the prelims result gets announced.
  • SBI Junior Associate 2019- Prelims (cleared) & Mains (Failed), Missed by few points.
  • LIC AAO 2019- Prelims (Failed), Missed by 0.25 marks.
  • LIC ADO 2019- Prelims (cleared) & Mains (Failed), Weak in Insurance part.
  • FCI 2019- Prelims (cleared) & Mains (Failed), couldn’t clear the overall cutoff.
  • IBPS RRB PO 2019- Prelims (cleared) & Mains (Failed)
  • IBPS RRB Clerk 2019- Prelims (cleared) & Mains (Not appeared) – Appeared for ESIC UDC Skill Test on the same date.
  • ESIC UDC 2019- All 3 phases (cleared) but NOT selected, not in Top 30 merit list as my Rank was 51.
  • IBPS PO 2019- Prelims (cleared), Mains (cleared), Interview (Appeared) but couldn’t make it to FINAL LIST.
  • IBPS CLERK 2019- All cleared (SELECTED)
  • IBPS SO IT 2019- All cleared (SELECTED)

GOING TO JOIN:  Out of two, I will join SO IT in BANK OF INDIA as I always wanted to continue with my technical knowledge. Also, it is going to prove my B.Tech worthy along with my preparation in banking.

2. Zeba Farheen Section-Wise Preparation Strategy

2.1 English Section Preparation Strategy

Start reading newspapers including the editorial. It will enhance your reading capability as well as your vocabulary. These two things are most important for clearing this section & follow Harshita mam on OLIVEBOARD Youtube for clearing the concepts.

2.2 Quant Section Preparation Strategy

Learn square till 30 and cubes till 20. Practice Simplification/ approximation, Number series, Quadratic equations, and DI. These topics are comparatively easy and will fetch you good marks in prelims. But at the same time don’t neglect the miscellaneous part which consists of arithmetic topics like percentage, average, profit loss, etc. because most of the questions in mains exams are from the miscellaneous part.

2.3 Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

The topics in this section are general and you don’t have to understand many basics. The practice is the key to this section. Most of the questions are from these two topics i.e. Puzzles and seating arrangement. Other topics are inequalities, syllogism, direction sense, blood relations, etc. are relatively easy.

2.4 General Awareness Preparation Strategy

Study current affairs daily and make notes including related static data. Try to cover the last 5 months of current affairs before the mains exam. Highly preferred TNA and BOLT monthly CA by me. Revising the notes regularly is the only way to fetch you good marks in this section.

2.5 Technical Section Preparation Strategy

Referred notes of B.Tech and OB mock tests really helped me in getting the idea of a question pattern.

2.6 Interview Preparation

Followed Interview Course on the EDGE platform of Oliveboard. Aditya Sir helped me to prepare for the Interview in the best possible way and the sessions were extremely helpful including the Mock Interview.

3. Zeba Farheen Tips To Aspirants

The preparation should always be done in an integrated manner i.e. together for prelims and mains. If you will prepare only for prelims first and think that mains preparation can be done after prelims then it becomes very hard because you will not get enough time to prepare for mains after prelims.

Overall I would say, Work on your Basics. Practice by giving Daily quiz & Mock tests as many as you can. Analyze it very genuinely and jot down your weak points and then devise your own strategy based on your performance.

Note: Practice is the only key to success. Your speed and accuracy depend on the fact that which question you pick up first. Try to Skip the difficult questions at first and attempt the maximum number of questions with 100% accuracy.

Work Hard, believe in yourself and you will get success. It can require months or sometimes years but do not bother. Just give your best. The time is high. Get your nerves on for the upcoming challenges. All The Best.
