Step 1: Registration Process
- Click on the provided link below or visit the official website of AFCAT.
- A new page will appear, and if you are a new user, you will need to register first.
- Click on the “New User Register” option on the page.
- A new page will appear, where you will be required to enter your mobile number and email address for registration.
- An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your mobile number and email address. Fill in the OTP and click on “Submit.”
- After successful submission, a Login ID and Password will be sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
Step 2: Login
- Login using the provided Registration Number and Password. Select the desired post you are applying for.
- Fill in all the required details, including educational qualifications, depending upon your educational background.
- Proceed to pay the examination fee online using a Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking.
- You will be required to upload a scanned color photograph and your signature (in English or Hindi) in JPEG format.
- Login again using your Registration Number and Password in the designated link for “UPLOAD.”
- Upload the necessary files, such as the scanned and filled application form and required certificates.
- Verify all the information you have provided and make any necessary corrections.
- Finally, submit the application form. It is advisable to print out the acknowledgment for future reference and record-keeping.

AFCAT 2 2025 Selection Process
Here is a detailed step-by-step description of the selection process for AFCAT 2 2025:
- Indian Air Force will send call letters to candidates who clear the AFCAT 2 2025 written exam, inviting them to the next stage of selection, which is the AFSB Testing.
AFSB Testing Stage 1
This stage include two tests:
- Officer Intelligence Rating Test: Candidates will undergo an Officer Intelligence Rating Test, which assesses their logical and reasoning abilities.
- Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT): This test involves viewing a picture for a limited time and then narrating a story based on the picture. It is followed by a group discussion.
Note: Candidates who do not clear Stage 1 will be rejected and will not proceed to AFSB Testing Stage 2.
AFSB Testing Stage 2
All the candidates who will clear AFSB Testing Stage 1 will have to undergo following tests:
- Psychological Tests: Candidates who clear Stage 1 will undergo written psychological tests conducted by professional psychologists. These tests analyze the candidates’ personality traits and suitability for the Air Force.
- Group Tests: This stage involves various mental and physical activities conducted in a group setting. It assesses the candidates’ ability to work as a team, leadership skills, and overall personality.
- AFSB Interview: Candidates will face a personal interview with an interviewing officer who evaluates their suitability for a career in the Indian Air Force.
- Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test: This test is mandatory for candidates who have applied for the Flying Branch. It evaluates their aptitude for flying.
Medical Examination
Recommended candidates will be called for a comprehensive medical examination. The medical examination will be conducted at the Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru, or Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME).
AFCAT Final Selection
After the medical examination, a final merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the written exam and AFSB interviews. Shortlisted candidates will be issued joining letters for the respective training academies they have applied to.
