Bihar TET Eligibility Criteria – Age Limit

All exams require their candidates to be of a certain age to qualify for writing the exam. The age limit for Bihar TET is as given below. Certain relaxations in upper age limit are given to the OBC and SC/ST candidates and also the General category female candidates.

Bihar TET Eligibility Criteria – Nationality

Only candidates who are Indian nationals are eligible to apply for Bihar TET. Candidates from across India can apply for Bihar Teaching Eligibility Test.

Bihar TET Eligibility Criteria – Educational Qualification

Candidates who apply for BTET will know that there are two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach Primary classes or Classes 1-5. Paper 2 is for Upper Primary teachers, classes 6-8.

General BTET Educational Qualification

There are some minimum educational qualifications that candidates who apply for Paper 1 and Paper 2 need to have. These are-

Minimum Educational Qualification for Paper 1 (Classes 1-5)

Candidates must have passed the class 10 examination with an aggregate of 45% marks or equivalent.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks with a B.Ed. degree.
Lastly, candidates appearing in Diploma in Special Elementary or Diploma in Education or Bachelor in Elementary Education are eligible.

Minimum Educational Qualification for Paper 2 (Classes 6-8)

Candidates who passed or appeared for bachelor’s courses with a minimum of 45% marks are eligible.
Also, candidates who have appeared or passed senior secondary or B. Ed. with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply.
Applicants with a 4-year bachelor’s degree with 50% marks are eligible to teach from standard VI to VII.
Also, candidates with a graduate with 50% marks and one-year D.El. Ed. are eligible.
Lastly, aspirants appearing for B. Ed. or the 2^nd year diploma in Elementary Education or the second year diploma in Education in Special Education are also eligible.
