IBPS RRB Officer Scale-1 Exam Analysis 2017
The IBPS RRB Officer Scale-1 exam began today. In the following article, we are providing a quick analysis of the initial slots of the examination.
Quantitative Aptitude: Easy
Overall: Easy to Moderate
There were no surprises in the exam in terms of broad pattern or any new types of questions. It largely followed the same pattern as last year with very minor changes.
The following is just a reporting of the slots that are completely based on our students’ feedback and is not an indicator of the exam pattern for the subsequent slots.
This section was moderate and had 4 sets of Analytical reasoning or Puzzles. One of the sets was tricky and time consuming and students would do well to identify this set and avoid it to maximize attempts in the remaining questions of the paper which had relatively easier questions. In a speed based exam such as the IBPS RRB Prelims, question selection plays a key part and hence avoiding difficult questions is as important as picking the easy ones. Syllogism was present but was of the traditional type. There were no Blood Relation or Direction Sense questions. 27+ can be considered good attempts in this section.
This section was relatively easier than the Reasoning section. There were 3 sets of Data Interpretation with 5 questions each. There were 1-2 questions in each set that were more time consuming than the others but none of the sets should worry any student who has practiced several DI sets. The Number Series and Approximation questions were fairly straightforward. The Miscellaneous questions on Arithmetic topics were less easier than the other questions in this section but overall the section was still easy. 30+ can be considered a very good number of attempts.
