- The RRB NTPC examination is a computer-based test.
- It will be an objective type multiple choice question examination.
- The total number of questions is 100.
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- Negative marking is applicable. For every wrong answer or multiple answers to one question, 1/3 marks will be deducted.
- The time duration of the examination is 1.5 hours (90 minutes).
- The examination duration for PWD candidates is 2 hours (120 minutes).

- OBC- NCL (Other Backward Classes- Non-Creamy Layer)- 30 percent

These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2 percent for PwBD candidates in case of a shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.

RRB NTPC Physical Fitness and Medical Standards

RRB NTPC Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Candidates applying for the positions of Traffic Assistant and Station Master are required to take the CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test).
To qualify, candidates must achieve a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each test battery. This requirement applies to all categories, with no relaxation in the minimum T-Score.
Successful candidates must pass each test battery of the CBAT to be eligible for recruitment.
The CBAT includes questions and answer options in both English and Hindi, with no negative marking.
The merit list will only include candidates who qualify in the CBAT. Marks from Stage-II CBT carry 70% weightage, while marks from CBAT carry 30% weightage in determining the final merit list.
RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test (TST)
- This test is qualifying in nature.
- Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for typing test.
- The candidates should type 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi on a Computer without the editing tools and spell check facility.
RRB NTPC Document Verification (DV)
Based on the performance of candidates in Stage II and the performance of candidates in both Stage- II CBT and CBAT/ TST (as applicable).
