Inspiring Success Story Story of Lakshya Sharma

Hi, I am Lakshya Kumar Sharma, B.TECH (mechanical) from MIET, Meerut (2014_18 batch). I am from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. Presently, posted as an assistant manager (PO) at Prathama Bank (2019 batch) in U.P. I have cleared various other exams like IBPS RRB PO (2019) in Prathma UP Gramin Bank, RRB Clerk (2019) in Baroda UP Gramin Bank, IBPS PO(2019) in Bank Of India, IBPS Clerk (2019) in Punjab National Bank, also cleared SBI clerk 2019 in (First Waiting List). Besides these, I have cleared EPFO SSA mains and I am waiting for its final typing round.

I had started my bank and government exams preparation in October 2018. The first bank exam I appeared for was IBPS CLERK 2018. In this, I scored more than the total of the final cutoff but was unable to clear the sectional cutoff of English. After this, I managed to clear SBI PO pre and mains but unfortunately was unable to make it out in the final list after the interview and lacked 0.76 marks in it. Again, I was fortunate enough to clear LIC AAO pre and score 212 marks in mains but was unable to clear the sectional cutoff of insurance. But this never led me down. I stayed determined and focused throughout my preparation and had been honest toward my work. I just focused on the mock test I have purchased, the BANKING ELITE OF OLIVEBOARD, and did all the prelims and mains mock tests regularly. It actually helped me a lot and as a result, I landed in the job, once I wished for.

Laksha Sharma Subject-Wise Strategy:-

ENGLISH:– I started as an average student in the English language and after appearing in a few exams, I realized that good command of the English language is required to clear the banking exam like IBPS PO, SBI PO, etc. One should have excellent reading and comprehension skills in English. So initially, I started to read newspapers regularly (especially the editorial section). It was more helpful for me to clear my reading comprehension section and for the grammar section like sentence rearrangement, phrase replacement, etc. I practiced mock tests and started to attempt more and more mock tests which is the first requirement to clear the English Section.

MATHS:— Coming from an engineering background, I was good enough in maths. So It didn’t require me to practice more for that. For this section, I would only say that one should have an understanding of the basic concept of maths and should maintain speed and accuracy during the exam. As the cutoff of pre-exams is increasing day by day it has become more important for a person to have good speed and accuracy with the basic knowledge of concept because it helps to increase the chances of selection and also should have a good command of simplification, number series and quadratic equation to qualify the pre-exam whereas for the mains exam, deep understanding of the topic and selection of the questions matters.

REASONING:— To score well in the reasoning section, a clear understanding of the concepts as well as familiarity with questions is needed which can only be achieved by the regular practice of test series. If I talk about my case, I practiced mock tests from OLIVEBOARD because it exposes the format and level of toughness of the questions in front of the learner. The questions of OLIVEBOARD mock tests are very much similar to IBPS PO mains questions. So in this way it can be helpful to clear the cutoff of reasoning and the most important part of the reasoning is puzzling because its weightage is higher as compared to other topics. So you should practice at least 4-5 puzzles daily. 2-3 medium level and 1-2 tough level ones.

General Awareness:– The first and most important thing for this section is to at least cover the 8 months G.K. to have a good knowledge of the current things and also to score maximum from this section. The second thing that you can do is to follow one or two channels of current affairs but make sure you follow those channels regularly and also revise the previous videos of the current affairs with every new video. Also, I would like to recommend OLIVEBOARD’S bolt monthly PDFs as they were very helpful for me if I talk about my preparation.

Prepare Current Affairs With Oliveboard’s Month BOLT:

STRATEGY:— For the preparation of any exam you should have complete knowledge about the exam such as the pattern of the exams, syllabus of the exam, types of questions asked in the exam, etc. After all this, you can prepare your schedule accordingly but make sure that you are following your schedule accordingly and regularly. One of the most important things is to practice more and more test series without any skip in days and also solve mock tests as much as you can. But giving mock tests and practice test series is not enough until you analyze them. So after every mock test, it should be your priority to analyze them, spot your mistakes, and try to work on them. Also if you find any new question that is related to your exam just make note of it and try to solve it later so that you get acquainted with a variety of questions.

How Oliveboard Helped In Cracking The Exam?

If I talk about my opinion, the OLIVEBOARD test series are best because its questions are very much similar to the questions asked in the exam. If you do it regularly and honestly then you won’t face any difficulty in exams. It was helpful for me as well as it helped me to know my weak areas and prepared me for the toughest questions which were very helpful for me from the exams perspective. So in the end, I would like to thank OLIVEBOARD and wishing you guys good luck in your future endeavors.

One more thing which I would like to add is:-

If you do what is easy then your life will become hard but if you do what is hard then your life will become easy. So work hard on your weaker portions. All the best aspirants.
