TNPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern 2025
The TNPSC Group 2 Combined Civil Services Examination–II (CCSE–II) is conducted in three stages: Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview (for Group II only). Group IIA posts do not have an interview. The detailed exam pattern is given below.
Preliminary Exam (Common for Group II & Group IIA)
The preliminary exam is just for shortlisting candidates and does not count toward the final result.

Mains Exam (Different for Group II & Group IIA)
The TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam has two papers. Paper I is a qualifying Tamil Eligibility Test, while Paper II is the scoring component used for final ranking.
Paper I: Tamil Eligibility Test
This paper tests candidates’ proficiency in Tamil at SSLC level. It is descriptive in nature and only qualifying.
