MP Police SI Syllabus: Overview, Selection Process, Syllabus

MP SI Exam is a recruitment exam for the position of Sub-Inspector in Madhya Pradesh. The exam is administered by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Educational Board (MPPEB). It is a self-governing body of the MP state government. It is also known as MP Vyapam. It is one of India’s largest exam conducting bodies. It holds more than 30 exams in the state to select and recruit qualified candidates for state government positions. Every year, MPPEB conducts exams for nearly 20 lakh candidates for various positions. This blog covers the MP Police SI Syllabus to help you to prepare for it.

Selection Process

There are three stages on which a candidate is selected for the post of sub-inspector. These are-

  • Written exam
  • Physical measurement test & physical endurance test
  • Personal interview

Written Exam

There will be two papers for the exam.

  • Science
  • GK, Hindi and English

The science paper will be for 2 hours, holding 100 marks. This paper will be only for SI and other technical posts. Candidates regarding non-technical posts need not study for it.

GK, Hindi and English will come all together in the second paper for 3 hours holding 200 marks. General knowledge (GK) will be of 100 marks, Hindi -70 and English- 30.

Paper 1 – Science

Physics 

Properties of Matter –Temperature, Internal Energy, Units and Dimensions, Vector and Scalar Quantities,  Gravitation, Friction problems, Motion in liquids, Rotational Motion, Thermodynamics, Oscillations and  Waves, Elementary Calculus and so on.

Chemistry 

Bio-molecules, Polymers and Drugs, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, atoms and molecules and so on.

Mathematics 

Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple interest & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF and LCM, Problem On Ages, Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the section which have to be focused.

Paper 2 – Hindi and English

  • वाक्यांश के लिए एक शब्द पर आधारित प्रश्न
  • भाव पल्लवन/भाव विस्तार पर आधारित प्रश्न
  • वाक्य – अशुद्धि संशोधन पर आधारित प्रश्न
  • वाक्य परिवर्तन पर आधारित प्रश्न
  • मुहावरे/लोकोक्तियां पर आधारित प्रश्न
  • समास विग्रह तथा समास के भेद पर आधारित प्रश्न
  • संक्षिप्तिकरण पर आधारित प्रश्न
  • भिन्नार्थक समोच्चरित शब्द पर आधारित प्रश्न
  • पारिभाषिक, तकनीकी शब्दों के प्रयोग पर आधारित प्रश्न
  • वाक्य भेद  (रचना, अर्थ के आधार पर) वाक्य रूपांतर पर प्रश्न
  • शब्द युग्म पर प्रश्न
  • बोली, विभाषा, मातृभाषा, राजभाषा, राष्ट्रभाषा पर प्रश्न

FAQ-

How many papers are there in the MP Police SI Syllabus?

There are 2 papers, Paper 1 – Science and Paper 2 – GK, English and Hindi.

I am from the reserved category. Can I get some relaxation in the physical test?

No, there are no relaxations for physical fitness for anyone. Candidates who do not satisfy the requirements will be deemed ineligible, even if they are qualified in the written test.

I will be 18 in a couple of days, can I apply now?

No, any underage candidate is strictly not eligible. Must be above 18 at the time you apply.

Can the 12th pass apply for SI?

No, graduation is mandatory for the post of SI. However, you can apply for non-technical posts.
