The RRB NTPC exam began all over India today. It is the first time that exam is being conducted online but there were no real surprises in the exam pattern. The Reasoning & Quant portions were easy while the General Awareness section was moderate. As predicted by Oliveboard, there were no sectional division of questions (questions were assorted and appeared in a random order), no questions on English/Verbal and no non-verbal reasoning questions (minor modifications in pattern across slots is possible)

RRB NTPC Exam Analysis | 17th January 2021
The first shift examination was easy compared to the exam held on Saturday, January 16. The questions from Mathematics and Reasoning section were of moderate level. Questions from the General Knowledge section were of easy level, with more weightage to History and Geography. “Questions from Economics and Polity were there, but a few said a student after the examination.
30 questions in Objective type format were asked including of more than 3 questions were asked from the Number system, Mensuration, Time, and Distance, 3 Questions from BODMAS, Train-Speed, Data Interpretation, Geometry, Simple and Compound Interest.

As many as 40 questions were asked from the General Awareness section. Questions from Current affairs, National and International events, followed by static GK, Defence Exercises, International Organizations, Full Form, etc. were asked in shift 1 examination.
The overall level of RRB NTPC Exam Phase 2, Shift 1 on 16th Jan 2021 was easy to moderate. Candidates are advised to follow the pattern closely for section wise preparation. There were no questions from world history and geography in GA. Mensuration and Arithmetic were followed the previous day pattern in quant. There were no changes to the pattern of Reasoning questions in this shift. An average number of good attempts that would be enough for this shift is 75-82.
The quant section of RRB NTPC Phase 2 day 1 was easy to moderate. Mensuration, DI and Arithmetic were predominant in this shift. 22-25 attempts will be enough to clear the cut off here.
