Language Proficiency Test

Preliminary Examination

Mains Examination

Candidates who pass the first exam can take the main online exam. It tests General Knowledge, English skills, Reasoning and Computer skills, and Math skills. Scores from the main exam decide the final merit list. The SBI Clerk Mains is held on the following exam pattern.

Document Verification

SBI checks the documents of candidates who score above the cut-off in the main exam. Only those with valid documents move forward to the LPT stage.

Language Proficiency Test

The final step tests candidates’ reading, writing, and speaking skills in the official language of the state where they applied.

  • If candidates have a 10th or 12th certificate showing they studied the local language, they don’t need to take the Language Test.
  • For other selected candidates, the local language test will be conducted after selection but before joining.

SBI Clerk Waiting List

  • The SBI Clerk Waiting List remains valid for one year from the date the results are announced.
  • Candidates on the waiting list may be considered for vacancies due to non-joining or resignations within the current batch.
  • Updates from the waiting list are made quarterly.

SBI Clerk Probation Period

  • Newly elected candidates must complete a 6-month probation period.
  • During probation, employees must finish 15 required e-lessons.
  • Failure to complete these e-lessons will result in an automatic extension of the probation period.
  • After completing the e-lessons, the performance of new clerks will be evaluated according to the SBI Clerk Junior Associate Selection Process.
