TPSC Selection Process 2024
The Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) conducts common competitive examination to select interested individuals for various state government departments. The selection process of Tripura Civil Service Exam concludes into three stages: Preliminary exam, Mains Exam and Interview. The information regrading the recruitment process is published into the TPSC Notification. TPSC Selection Process
The Combined Competitive Recruitment Exam of Tripura Public Service Commission is conducted into three stages. Applicants who are eligible for the exam go for the TPSC Selection process. The first stage is the Prelims exam which is qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify the prelims exam, are allowed for the mains exam. The merit list is prepared based on the marks scored in the mains and interview.

TPSC Selection Process – Stage 1
The first stage of the selection process for Tripura Civil Service Exam is the Preliminary Exam. The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only for the purpose of selection of candidates for the Main Examination. The marks obtained in this examination by the candidates will not be considered for final selection. A limited number of candidates (according to the vacancy) will be selected merit wise on the basis of the result of Preliminary Examination, subject to securing minimum qualifying marks.

TPSC CCE First Stage: Prelims
- Preliminary Examination (MCQ Type) will be carrying 200 marks.
- Only those candidates who will be declared qualified at the Preliminary Examination, will be eligible for admission to the Main Examination.
- The Prelims exam will consists only one paper i.e. General Studies & Engineering Aptitude.
- The total time duration will be 2½ hours.
- ¼ marks will be deducted as penalty for every wrong answers.

TPSC Selection Process – Stage 2
Second stage of the TPSC CCE selection process is Mains exam. This exam is compulsory. The minimum cut off marks to qualify in main examination is 40% in aggregate for UR & 30% in aggregate for Reserved Category Candidates. The selected candidates on the basis of results of the Main(Written) Examination will be allowed to appear in the Interview Cum Personality Test.

- The mains exam consists compulsory and optional subject papers.
- The nature of the mains exam will be subjective type.
- The mains paper will be of 800 marks.

TPSC Selection Process – Stage 3
The third stage of Tripura PSC Recruitment is the Interview or Personality Test. Candidates qualifying in the Main (written part) are eligible. The Commission determines the Interview-cum-personality test pattern based on service and post requirements. This aims to assess personal qualities like intellectual ability, social traits, current affairs interest, judgment power, depth of interest, leadership ability, moral integrity, etc. The Interview carries 100 marks.
TPSC Recruitment: Important Points
- Candidates must submit applications through the Online Application Portal; hard copies will not be accepted.
- Avoid submitting multiple applications; if unavoidable, ensure the latest application is complete.
- In case of multiple applications, only the one with the latest Receipt Number will be considered.
- Examination venue closes 10 minutes before the scheduled start; no entry afterward.
- Mobile phones/electronic gadgets are prohibited; possession may lead to confiscation and debarment.
- No interview call without appearing in all Main exam papers.
- Interview call ratio will be based on minimum Main exam cut-off marks.
- Final selection will be based on Main exam aggregate and interview marks.
- Absence in the interview leads to non-consideration for final selection.
- Similar procedure for preparing a waiting list, if any.
- Merit positions for equal marks decided based on percentage in minimum educational qualification.
- Commission’s assessment and evaluation of answer scripts are final and not open to external scrutiny.
