UPTET Salary Structure

The UPTET exam is conducted every year to recruit suitable teachers for the post of Primary and Upper Primary Teachers. Candidates who get certified as Primary Teachers will receive training for classes 1-5. Those who are Upper Primary teachers will handle classes 6-8. There are candidates who may want to teach both, ie. classes 1-8. The salary structure for Primary and Upper Primary teachers according to the 7th Pay Commission is given below.

  • According to the 7th Pay Commission, the Primary and Upper Primary teachers who clear UPTET will earn a monthly salary between ₹9,300- ₹34,800.
  • The UPTET teachers will be incremented annually. This is because the state government of Uttar Pradesh also approves the 7th Central Pay Commission twice a year.

UPTET In-Hand Salary 2023

The in-hand salary is calculated by adding up the Basic Pay with the allowances and reducing whatever deductions are applicable. The total gross pay is calculated as follows-

Total Gross Pay = (Grade Pay + HRA + DA) – (TDS + GIS + IS)

  • Primary Teachers: The base pay for Primary teachers and the allowances are as given in the table. Hence, the in-hand salary for UPTET Primary Teachers is ₹37,000 per month.
  • Upper Primary Teachers: The base pay and allowances for Upper Primary Teachers are as given in the table. Hence, the in-hand salary for the UPTET Upper Primary Teachers is ₹40,000-₹45,000.

UPTET Training Stipend

Candidates who clear the UPTET exam will be provided with training for a few months. During this period, the trainees will receive a stipend of ₹7,300 per month. With the completion of the training period, this stipend will be converted into the general pay-scale.
