UPTET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board conducts the UPTET to certify and recruit Primary and Upper Primary Teachers. For this, the exam has two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach classes 1-5. Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach classes 6-8. For those who want to teach classes 1-8, appearing for both papers is mandatory. UPTET Eligibility Criteria 2023 – Nationality

Candidates who wish to write the UPTET 2023 exam should make sure to check the nationality criteria. Those who meet the following aspects of nationality will be eligible to write UPTET.

  1. Indian Citizens
  2. Nepal Citizens
  3. Bhutan Citizens
  4. Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: Candidates who do not reside in Uttar Pradesh are eligible to write UPTET.
