NICL Administrative Officers Selection Process

The NICL AO Recruitment 2023-24 involves a thorough selection process that includes the following stages:

   • The Preliminary Examination consists of Objective Tests with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
   • The test is designed for a total of 100 marks.
2. Conduct Method:
   • The examination is conducted online, applicable to all disciplines except for Hindi Officers.
3. Duration:
   • The entire test has a duration of 60 minutes.
4. Sections:
   • The examination comprises three sections, each with separate timings:
     • English Language
     • Reasoning Ability
     • Quantitative Aptitude

Qualification Criteria:

1. Passing Marks:
   • Candidates are required to secure passing marks in each test/section.
2. Shortlisting for Main Examination:
   • The Company determines a sufficient number of candidates in each category.
   • Approximately 15 times the number of vacancies (subject to availability) are shortlisted for the Main Examination based on their performance in the Preliminary Examination.

Phase II: NICL AO Mains Exam Pattern 2024

1. Test Components:
   • The Main Examination comprises both Objective Tests (Multiple Choice type Questions) and a Descriptive Test.
2. Objective Test:
   • The Objective Test is conducted online and carries a total of 250 marks.
   • The test duration is 3 hours.
   • For Generalists, there are five sections, while Specialists have six sections.
3. Descriptive Test:
   • The Descriptive Test is conducted online for 30 marks.
   • Candidates are required to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on the computer.
4. Sequence of Tests:
   • Candidates will take the Objective Test first, and immediately after its completion, the Descriptive Test will be administered.

NICL AO Exam Pattern For Hindi Officer 2024

For Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers, the selection process involves a single-phase examination. The exam comprises a total of 204 questions, with a maximum score of 250 marks. There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates are tested on various aspects within this time frame to assess their suitability for the role.

• Eligibility Criteria for Shortlisting:
  • Each candidate must obtain a minimum score for each section separately to be eligible for shortlisting for the interview.
  • Additionally, candidates must obtain a minimum total score, decided by the Company based on the number of vacancies, in the Written Examination for shortlisting for the interview.
• Penalty for Wrong Answers (Objective Tests):
  • Applicable to all objective tests except for “English Language.”
  • Tests are bilingual (English and Hindi).
  • All objective questions have alternative choices, and candidates select the correct answer by “mouse click.”
  • Penalty for wrong answers: One-fourth of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted.
  • If a question is left blank (no answer marked), there is no penalty.
  • The clicked alternative/option is treated as the answered choice for that question.
• Structure Modification:
  • The Company reserves the right to modify the examination structure.
  • Any modifications will be communicated through the official website.
