Symbiosis International University administers the Symbiosis Law Entrance Test (SLAT) for admission to Integrated Law Programmes. The test will be given entirely online. It is a prestigious law test that is held nationwide for admission to Symbiosis Law Schools in Pune, Nagpur, Noida, and Hyderabad. According to the University’s recent trends, the paper will consist of 60 questions divided into five unique sections.

  • Logical Reasoning

This section will have 12 questions based on topics such as Number Test, Series Test, Coding and Decoding, Odd One Out, Statement Arguments, Verbal Reasoning, Analogy, Statement Assumptions, Ranking, Questions n Relations, Syllogisms. Logical reasoning is a form of thinking in which premises and relations between premises are used in a rigorous manner to infer conclusions that are entailed (or implied) by the premises and the relations.

  • Legal Reasoning

This section will test the candidate’s interest in the study of law, research aptitude and problem-solving ability. Questions may include legal propositions (described in the paper) and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. There will be questions based on Legal Knowledge too. Legal reasoning as a concept is a process of thinking which helps a researcher to come to a decision relating to law.

  • Analytical Reasoning

This section will have 12 and will include questions on Permutation and Combination, Blood Relations, Mixtures, Ratio and Proportion, Series, Number System, Time and Work, Mensuration, Clocks and Calendar, Profit- Loss and Discount, Coding-Decoding, Number Series, Probability etc. Analytical reasoning refers to the ability to look at information, be it qualitative or quantitative in nature, and discern patterns within the information. Analytical reasoning is axiomatic in that its truth is self-evident. 

  • Reading Comprehension

The English section will comprise 12 questions from comprehension passages. The unseen passages will be tailed by questions related to the passage. The English section is meant to test the language skill of the candidates. The candidate also needs to be very proficient in Antonyms & Synonyms, Spelling correction, Grammar – Tense, Part of speech, Idioms and Phrases, Analogies, One-word Substitution, Sentence Improvement, and rearrangement, Errors detection – Spotting errors, inappropriate usage of words, spelling mistakes.

  • General Knowledge

The 12 questions of General Knowledge will cover the topics such as History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics, and Current Affairs of the past year. This section will assess your knowledge of the recent happenings and world awareness. GK is very vast and has numeral topics to cover. Hence the first important thing to do is understand the important topics where the questions are more likely to come from.
