RRB Group D Selection Stages

The recruitment process for the RRB Group D post will commence with the release of the official notification. After that application portal will be activated by RRB and applications will be submitted by eligible and interested candidates. After the selection process will begin. Below we have discussed the details of the stages through which candidates will be selected.

RRB Group D Stage 1: Computer-Based Test

The First stage of RRB Group D is an online Computer-based Test where questions will be presented on the computer system and candidates have to type their answers. The time will be mentioned on the screen and candidates have to complete it within that period.

The RRB Group D CBT consists of 4 sections such as GS, Maths, Reasoning, and General Awareness. The total number of questions and marks is 100. Each question carries 1 mark and there is a negative marking of 1/3rd for each wrong answer. The total duration is 90 minutes.

Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS: 40%, OBC/ST/SC: 30%. Check subject-wise marks distribution in the table below.

RRB Group D Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test

Those who qualify the computer-based test will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test. The criteria through which candidates will be assessed are different for male and female candidates and like CBT, it is mandatory to qualify this stage in order to move towards Document Verification. For this, candidates need to be physically fit and strong. Check the criteria below.

RRB Group D Stage 3: Document Verification

During this round, all the documents in original form will be verified by the officers to assure the identity of the candidates. This stage is mandatory and absence due to any reason can lead to disqualification. Documents to be checked during verification are:

  • Admit Card/Call Letter for Document Verification
  • Matriculation/High School Certificate
  • Educational Qualification Certificates (Mark sheets and Degree/Diploma)
  • Caste Certificate: SC/ST Certificate, OBC-NCL Certificate, EWS Certificate, PwBD Certificate (if applicable)
  • Minority Community Declaration (if applicable)
  • Ex-Servicemen Certificate (if applicable)
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) (if applicable)
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  • Medical Certificate for PwBD Candidates (if applicable)
  • Aadhaar Card or any Valid Photo ID
  • Passport Size Photographs
  • Self-Declaration Document for Ex-Servicemen (if applicable)

RRB Group D Stage 4: Medical Examination

This is the last stage of the examination. In earlier stages, the mental aptitude and physical strengths of the candidates were checked but at this stage, they will assessed medically. It means they should have no chronic disease that might disturb their duty performance later on.
