Exam Pattern

The TNPSC Group 1 exam is a two-tiered test. For the final selection, candidates must pass both the Prelims and the Mains examinations. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam are shortlisted for the mains exam, with the final selection made on merit.

In both the preliminary and major tests, there will be no negative grading. To appear for an interview, the applicant must pass each level, which is worth 100 points.

Admit Card Details

The TNPSC Group 1 Admit Card is an important document. Without the Admit Card, Candidates will not be allowed access to the exam hall. Therefore candidates ensure that they download the Admit Card at least a few days before the exam and must carry it to the exam hall. Some details in admit card include – The candidate’s name, roll number, date of birth, category, exam day and slot, exam timings, reporting time, entry closing time, and the name and complete address of the exam centre.


Candidates must adapt to the abilities required for the posts they want to apply for in order to prepare for the Tamil Nadu PSC Recruitment examinations. Some TNPSC Group roles also demand physical qualifications such as the posts in Tamil Nadu police.
