About Haryana Police Exam

The Haryana Police were formed when the state of Haryana was established after bifurcation from the state of Punjab on 1 November 1966. The organization is governed by the "Punjab Police rules" which were framed in 1934; however, the State Government passed its police act in 2008. Haryana Police comes under the direct control of the Department of Home Affairs, Government of India. The Haryana Police is headed by the Home Minister.

Haryana Police every year recruits candidates for various posts such as constable, sub-inspector, etc. This time, Haryana Police is conducting the recruitment drive for 400 posts of Sub Inspector (Male) and 65 posts of Sub Inspector (Female) of Group C of the police department.

The Haryana Police SI selection process 2021 includes mainly 4 stages of selection viz. the written test, PMT & PST, additional qualification and miscellaneous round. The Haryana Police SI Exam Pattern 2021 has been detailed further:

Haryana Police SI Written Exam

  • The Written Test will carry 80 marks.
  • There will be a total of 100 questions.
  • There is no negative marking as per the official notification of HSSC.
  • Each correct answer will be marked as 0.8
  • Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the Written Test.

Physical Screening Test (PST)

The physical screening test is qualifying in nature, and no candidates will appear in the next round without the completion of the Physical screening test. In PST, candidates need to showcase their physical strength and stamina to be eligible for the post. The details are given below in the tabular form.

Physical Measurement Test 

PMT is also qualifying in nature and candidates have to clear this round of the selection process also. Check out the details given below about PMT. Candidates should check the PMT criteria to avoid any problems.

Additional Qualification (10% Weightage): 10 Marks

The candidates who successfully clear the 3rd stage are called for the final verification round of scrutiny.

Education (maximum 7 marks): 
04 Marks for the candidate with higher education i.e. a Graduation degree in Law, Computer Engineering/Science, Forensic Medicine, Forensic Science, Police Science and Criminology (which-take 04 or more years after 10+2 to get a specialized degree) issued from a recognized university and additional three (03) marks for a Post Graduate degree in any of the aforementioned streams issued from a recognized university. No equivalent degrees shall be considered.

Candidates with a Post Graduate degree in any stream other than the ones mentioned above shall get no extra marks. However, the candidates having a degree over and above their Post Graduation e.g. M. Phil or Ph.D. in streams other than the ones mentioned above will get an additional three (03) marks.

NCC Certificate (Maximum 3 marks): Candidates with NCC certificates for levels A, B or C will receive additional marks of 1,2 or 3 for both the SI and Constable positions, respectively.

Miscellaneous (10 % Weightage) 10 Marks

(i) Five (05) marks shall be given if neither the applicant nor any person from among the applicant’s father, mother, spouse, brother, and Son is, was or has been a regular employee in any Department/Board/Corporation/Company/Statutory Body/ Commission/Authority of Government of Haryana or any other State Government or Government of India.

(ii) Five (05) marks shall be given if the applicant is:-

  • a widow; or
  • the first or the second child and his father had died before attaining the age of 42 years: or
  • the first or the second child and his father had died before the applicant had attained the age of 15 years,”.
  • Five (05) marks will be given, if the applicant belongs to such a denotified tribe (Vimukt Jatis and Tapriwas Jatis) or the Nomadic tribe of Haryana which is neither a Scheduled Caste nor a Backward Class.
  • Maximum of eight (08) marks have been kept for experience as an adhoc or contract employee. One-half (=0.5) mark for each year or part thereof exceeding six months of experience, out of a maximum of 16 years, on the same or a higher post in any Department, Board, Corporation, Company, Statutory Body, Commission, Authority of the Government of Haryana.

Educational Qualification For Sub-Inspector (Male)

Steps To Apply Online

Following are all the general and special instructions for the applicant with respect to the online filling of the application form

a. Apply online well in advance without waiting for the last date of submission of the online application form.

b. Please read the instructions and procedures carefully before you start filling the Online  

Application Form and check all the particulars filled up in the application form after getting the printout to ensure the correctness of the information and upload all documents before finally submitting the application

c. The candidate should fill in all details while filling the Online Application Form. After applying online, Registration No. and Password will be generated. Take a printout of the registration no. and password screen for future reference of your application status and for reprinting of your online filled application form and e-Challan form.

d. After successful submission of the application, candidates can again take the final printout of the application form and e-Challan.

e. The hard copy of the application form along with all uploaded documents must be brought at the time when called upon to do so by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission. No documents which have not been uploaded shall be entertained.

f. No request for change of any particular on the application form shall be entertained by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission.

g. No offline application form or copy of a downloaded application form will be accepted by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission.
