UPPSC PCS Exam Selection Process
UPPSC conducts PCS exams for vacancies in its departments. This exam will have three stages, including
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type & Multiple choices)
- Main Examination (Written examination)
- Interview (Personality Test)
Applicants have to clear all three exams and score marks above the cut-off to be appointed UPPSC Officer.

UPPSC PCS Exam Pattern For Prelims
UPPSC PCS Prelims Exam will have two objective question papers. The negative marking scheme will apply to both of these papers. 1/3rd mark will be deducted for every wrong response in the Prelims exams. Paper-2 is qualifying in nature with 33% pass criteria.

UPPSC PCS Exam Pattern For Mains
The main exam will comprise eight papers and will be subjective type. UPPSC commission will call only those applicants for the mains exam who will clear the prelims written test. The detailed information about the mains exam for UPPSC PCS Exam is given below:

The commission will conduct mains exam within a week in two shifts:

UPPSC PCS Exam- Interview
The commission will call the applicants who will clear the mains exam for the interview. They will test the mental, academic, general awareness, aptitude, conversational skills, personality, and suitability of the applicants for the PCS posts in the interview. They will release the final merit list after the interview based on cumulative scores of all three exams.
