NABARD Recruitment 2025: The NABARD Grade A (Assistant Manager) exam is conducted by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development for recruitment into its Rural Development Banking Service (RDBS) and Rajbhasha cadres. The Grade A position is a gateway to a prestigious career in agricultural and rural banking. NABARD releases a notification every year (typically around July) announcing vacancies, eligibility, exam dates, and other details. For 2025, the detailed notification is yet to be released, candidates should watch the official NABARD website for updates. The Grade A recruitment process generally comprises a Preliminary exam, Main exam, a mandatory Psychometric Test, and a final Interview.

 

NABARD Grade A Notification 2025

 

The NABARD Grade A 2025 Notification (short notice and detailed advertisement) will be published on NABARD's official website. The notification will include eligibility criteria, the application process, exam scheme, syllabus, important dates, and vacancy details. Last year, out of 102 vacancies, a total of 100 vacancies were released for RDBS and rest 2 vacancies were out for Rajbhasha. For RDBS, the vacancies had been released in 17 disciplines. These disciplines were General, Finance, Agriculture, Chartered Accountant, IT, Fisheries, Forestry etc. This year also, it is expected that the vacancies will be released for all these disciplines.

NABARD Grade A Application Process

 

The NABARD Grade A Apply Online Process will begin with the release of notification. The candidates can apply only within the application window. These dates will be mentioned in NABARD Grade A Notification. To fill out the application forms, the candidates must not wait till the last date as during the last days, some technical glitches might occur due to heavy traffic on website.

  • Online Application: Candidates must apply online at the NABARD website (www.nabard.org) during the specified window. No other mode is accepted.
  • Registration: Create a login, enter personal details, upload scanned documents (photograph, signature, thumb impression, handwritten declaration) as per specifications.
  • Application Fee: Pay the required fee/intimation charges online via net banking/debit/credit card.
  • Submit: After fee payment, complete the application and print the confirmation page.

Important: Candidates can apply only once for a single post/discipline. Multiple applications will result in only the last submitted application being considered, and earlier fees will be forfeited. Also, only apply for one category (RDBS or Rajbhasha) since they are separate services.

Important Notes:

  • Graduation must be from any recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 60% marks (SC/ ST/ PWBD applicants - 55%) in aggregate for both RDBS & Rajbhasha.
  • Post Graduation must be from any recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 55% marks (SC/ ST/ PWBD applicants - 50%) in aggregate.

NABARD Grade A Educational Qualification for Rajbhasha

 

  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in English or Hindi medium with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject AND
  • PG Diploma in Translation (minimum one year) in Hindi to English and vice-versa from any recognized University.
  • Candidates must have studied English and Hindi as subjects in at least 02 years of bachelor's degree course. OR
  • Master's Degree in HINDI with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (SC/PWBD applicants – 55%). Candidates must have studied English as main/ elective subject in at least 02 years of Bachelor's Degree course. OR
  • Master's Degree in ENGLISH with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (SC/PWBD applicants – 55%). Candidates must have studied Hindi as main/elective subject in at least 02 years of Bachelor's Degree course.
  • Candidates must be able to translate from English to Hindi and vice/versa

NABARD Grade A Age Limit

 

The candidates must note that they must be between 21 and 30 years of age for RDBS & Rajbhasha. The reference date for the age limit is expected to be 1st July 2025. Candidate are expected to be born not earlier than 02-07-1995 and not later than 01-07-2004. 

  • General: 21 to 30 years as on the "cut-off" date (for 2024: born between 02-07-1994 and 01-07-2003 inclusive).
  • Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxation as per Government norms: +3 years for OBC, +5 years for SC/ST, +10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWD), etc.. (No cumulative relaxation beyond these is allowed.)

 

NABARD Grade A Selection Process 2025

 

The selection for Grade A (RDBS & Rajbhasha) typically involves several phases

  • Phase-I (Preliminary Exam): An online objective test (200 questions, 200 marks). Subjects include Reasoning, English, Quantitative Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, Decision Making, General Awareness, Economic & Social Issues (ESI) with focus on rural India, and Agriculture & Rural Development (ARD). Duration is 2 hours.
  • Phase-II (Main Exam): Candidates who qualify Prelims are eligible for Mains. The Mains for Generalist officers is a two-part exam:

Paper I: Descriptive English (essay/précis etc., 100 marks, 90 minutes).

Paper II: Objective Paper on ESI and ARD (50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes) + Descriptive Paper on ESI/ARD (4 out of 6 questions, 50 marks, 90 minutes).
Specialist streams also have subject-specific papers (e.g. Agriculture, Engineering etc.) in Mains.

  • Psychometric Test: A mandatory MCQ-based test (about 90 minutes) to assess personality traits. All Phase-II qualifiers must take this.
  • Interview: Candidates who clear Phase-II are called for a personal interview. This assesses domain knowledge, communication skills, and overall fit. The final merit is based on marks in Phase-II (Mains + Psychometric) and Interview.

Note: For Rajbhasha positions, the process is similar. Some sources indicate that specialist Rajbhasha posts may have an interview focus, but often the multi-phase structure still applies. The official notification will clarify this.

The candidates must note that a composite time of 120 minutes is given for all the tests together. The paper is conducted bilingually except for the English language. Also, note that there are some qualifying sections and some merit sections. The aspirants must note that the marks scored in the Merit section are only considered. 

i) Qualifying Section - Reasoning, English Language, Computer Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude & Decision Making 

ii) Merit Section - General Awareness, Economic & Social Issues (with focus on Rural India), Agriculture & Rural Development with Emphasis on Rural India.

NABARD Grade A Mains Exam Pattern 

 

Only those candidates who qualify the prelims are eligible for the mains. Check out the post wise mains exam pattern below. Also note some common points for all posts.

  • Descriptive Answers are to be typed using a keyboard either in English or Hindi (Remington and Inscript keyboards).
  • In Paper 2 Descriptive portion, the candidates have to attempt 4 questions out of 6 questions. In these 4 questions, 2 questions attempted must be of 15 marks and 2 questions of 10 marks.
  • On the completion of the mains exam, a psychometric test will be conducted. This test is mandatory.

NABARD Grade A Mains Exam Pattern for Generalist Officers

 

For the post of Generalist Officer, below is the exam pattern. Also note a few points from the section below:

  • The maximum marks for paper 1 (English) is 100 marks. Marks for paper 2 (ESI &ARD Objective & Descriptive) is 50 marks each.
  • In paper 1, only 3 questions will be asked.
  • In paper 2, 30 questions will be asked for objective part and 6 questions will be asked for descriptive part.

NABARD Grade A Mains Exam Pattern for Specialist Officers & Rajbhasha

 

For the post of Specialist Officer, below is the exam pattern. In Paper 2 Objective paper, some questions may carry 2 marks each and some questions may carry 1 mark each. Also, the number of questions for General English are 3, and for stream specific, it is 30 for objective part and 6 for descriptive part.

NABARD Grade A Psychometric Test

 

The NABARD Grade A Psychometric Test is designed to evaluate a candidate's personality, decision-making ability, emotional intelligence, and behavioural traits. It helps NABARD assess how well-suited a candidate is for the organizational environment and managerial responsibilities. This test will be conducted in a multiple-choice format with a duration of 90 minutes. While it is not eliminatory, performance in this test is considered during the final selection process.

The prelims exam consists of 8 sections. NABARD Grade A Salary 2025

 

Selected Assistant Managers in Grade ‘A' start with a basic pay of ₹44,500 per month (pay scale: ₹44,500–2,500*(4)–54,500–2,850*(7)–74,450–EB–2,850*(4)–85,850–3,300*(1)–89,150). With allowances (Dearness Allowance, House Rent, City Compensatory, Grade allowance, etc.), the approximate gross monthly salary is around ₹1,00,000. Additional perks include:

  • House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Grade Allowance, etc., as per rules.
  • Bank-leased accommodation or facilities for house purchase.
  • Reimbursement of vehicle maintenance, internet, telephone, books, etc.
  • Medical reimbursement (OPD/hospitalization), leave travel concession.
  • Contributory Pension (NPS), gratuity, group insurance.
  • Concessional loans for housing, education, vehicles, etc.

Career Growth: Officers are on probation for 2 years (extendable by 1 year) and can be posted anywhere in India. The pay scale extends to ₹89,150 over 17 years, and promotions lead to higher grades with corresponding pay hikes.
