  • India’s first National Sports University in Manipur: Union Cabinet approves ordinance: The Union Cabinet has approved the National Sports University Ordinance, 2018 to set up the country’s first national sports university in Imphal (west), Manipur
  • AB de Villiers announces retirement from all forms of cricket: Star South Africa batsman AB de Villiers announced his decision to retire from all forms of cricket with immediate effect on May 23. The cricketer made the announcement through a video message, in which he said that he had run out of gas.
  • Shashank Manohar re-elected as Chairman of International Cricket Council: Manohar became the first Independent Chairman of ICC in 2016. During his tenure of two years, he introduced a revised governance structure, including the appointment of the ICC’s first independent female director.
  • BCCI recommends Dravid for Dronacharya, Kohli for Khel Ratna: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recommended former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid’s name for the prestigious Dronacharya award and Virat Kohli’s for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna honour.
