Tamil Nadu Assembly adopted legislation for constituting the Lokayukta, anti-corruption panel.
Lokayukta would have all the powers of a civil court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
The proposed Lokayukta, comprising a chairperson and four members, would be empowered to inquire into complaints of corruption by public servants.

SC has said private hospitals in Delhi operating on subsidised government land must provide free treatment to the poor, or face shutdown.
