Centre extends deadline to update NRC

The Centre has given an extension of 6 months to complete the ongoing exercise for updating the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam by June 30.The draft NRC was published have included the names of 2.9 cr. people of the total 3.29 crore applicants

Fiscal deficit touches 115% of FY target during Apr-Nov

The country’s fiscal deficit touched 114.8 percent of the full-year target of Rs 6.24 lakh cr. at the end of November on account of lower revenue collections. The fiscal deficit stood at Rs 7.16 lakh crore during April-November of the current financial yr.

Govt to infuse Rs 28,615 cr in 7 PSBs

The govt. has decided to infuse Rs 28,615 crore into seven public sector banks (PSBs) through recapitalization bonds. The amt. infused will help the banks meet the regulatory capital requirement. Bank of India is to get the highest amount of Rs 10,086 cr.

RBI allows SIDBI to use an existing Rs 1000-crore corpus for lending to MFIs

India’s institutional framework to support microfinance will be getting a boost with Reserve Bank of India clearing a proposal to dig in an existing Rs 1000-crore corpus for funding micro lenders. SIDBI will use the money to offer soft loans to MFIs.

Government infuses Rs 2159 cr in United Bank of India
