Margaret Atwood & Bernardine Evaristo have jointly won 2019 Booker Prize. Atwood's “The Testament” & “Girl, Woman, Other” by Evaristo shared the prize. British Indian novelist Salman Rushdie's “Quichotte” was among the 6 books shortlisted for the prize.

Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo & Michael Kremer conferred 2019 Nobel Economics Prize

Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo & Michael Kremer won 2019 Nobel Economics Prize for their work on poverty. Duflo is the youngest person and second woman to be awarded the prize. The three laureates are expected to split a $915,000 cash prize.

RBI raises withdrawal limit to Rs 40,000 for PMC bank account holders

RBI has enhanced the withdrawal limit for the account holder of Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative Bank to 40,000 Rs from 25,000 Rs. This is the third time; RBI has raised the withdrawal limit since its clamp down on PMC Bank last month.

Andhra Pradesh CM to launch YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan Yojana

Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy will launch YSR Rythu Bharosa - PM Kisan Samman Yojana. Under the scheme, farmers will get financial assistance of Rs 13,500 per annum in 3 instalments, with the State Govt contributing Rs 7,500 & the Centre Rs 6,000.
