NTPC Signs MoU With Power Ministry Setting Key Targets for FY 2020-21

Key targets for 2020-21 under excellent category include 340 BU of electricity generation, 15 MMT of coal production, Rs. 21,000 Crores of Capex and Rs. 98,000 Crores of revenue from operations. The MoU also includes other financial parameters.

Rare fish family discovered in paddy fields of Kerala

A new family of bony freshwater fish has been discovered from paddy fields. It is believed that this fish has lineage going back to Gondwanaland & has survived even after the parting away of the Asian & African continents began some 120 million years ago.

SJVN signs MoU with Govt. of India for the year 2020-21

As per the targets set in MOU, SJVN shall strive to achieve 9680 Million Units of electricity generation during the year under ‘Excellent’ category. SJVN will have Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) target of Rs.2880 Crores and Turnover target of Rs. 2800 Crores.

Tamil Nadu joins ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme

CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami launched One Nation, One Ration Card scheme. Under this, families with Priority Household & Antodaya Anna Yojana ration cards from TN can receive their entitlements in other States, & those from elsewhere can receive them in TN.

Economic crimes on rise in Maharashtra, Mumbai tops metropolitan cities

According to the NCRB reports, Maharashtra registered an increase in economic offences in 2019 from 14,854 cases registered in 2018 and 13,941 cases logged in 2017. Rajasthan topped the list for economic offences with 26,920 cases registered in 2019.

In MOU for NHPC, generation target under Excellent rating has been set as 27500 MUs as against last year target of 26000MUs. Excellent Targets for Revenue from Operations (Net) has been kept as Rs 8900cr & PAT/ Average Net Worth has been kept as 10.50 %.

National Institute of Nutrition Changes Average Weight, Height Measurements for Indian Men and Women

Average weight for Indian men has been increased to 65kg, while that of Indian women has been changed to 55kg. The new average height for Indian men is 5.8 feet (177 cm), and that for women is 5.3 feet (162 cm).

NDB approves $500m loan for Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS

The New Development Bank (NDB) has approved a $500m loan for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project. The funds will be used by the National Capital Region Transport (NCRTC), for the construction of the rapid rail system.

Trial begins for first hydrogen-powered train in UK

Britain began trial of the country’s first hydrogen-powered train that does not emit harmful gases and uses hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity, water and heat.The trials of the HydroFLEX hydrogen train follows nearly two years of development work.
