Poet Nityananda Nayak to receive Sarala Puraskar

Noted Odia poet Nityanand Nayak will be conferred prestigious Sarala Puraskar for his poetry work ‘Setebelaku Nathiba’, published in 2017. This is 41st edition of the literary award, which was instituted by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust in 1979.

India successfully test fires anti-radiation missile 'Rudram' from Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft

India successfully test fired its first tactical anti-radiation missile Rudram 1. The supersonic-capable missile can be launched at speeds ranging from 0.6 mach to 2 mach, i.e., twice the speed of sound. IT can be launched from a height of 500m to 15 km.

Uttarakhand CM launched Mukhya Mantri Saur Swarojgar Yojana. It aims at creating self-employment for youths in state. Co-op banks will grant loans at interest rate of 8% p.a. for 15 yrs to set up the solar plants on private land or on land taken on lease.
