Indian and Indonesian navies carry out military drill in southern Arabian Sea

The Indian Navy was represented at the 'Passage' exercise by INS Sharda, an offshore patrol vessel (OPV), and the Indonesian Navy was represented by KRI Sultan Hasanudin, a corvette.

The 'Passage' exercises are regularly conducted by the Indian Navy with friendly foreign navies.

China becomes the world's first country to ban synthetic cannabinoids

China will become the world's first country to ban all synthetic cannabinoid substances. The ban is likely to come into effect on July 1. The move comes as China tries to curb the manufacturing & trafficking of the drug.

Synthetic cannabinoids are highly camouflaged, as some are found in e-cigarette oil,& some are found in cut tobacco made from leaves, flower petals,etc.

RBI cancels the licence of West Bengal's United Co-operative Bank

The Reserve Bank of India has cancelled the licence of United Co-operative Bank Ltd, Bagnan in West Bengal due to poor financial condition. However, all the depositors will receive the full amount of their deposits from Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation .

The Reserve Bank cancelled the licence of the bank as the bank does not have adequate capital.

India received $83 billion in remittances in 2020: World Bank report

According to a World Bank report,India received over USD83 billion in remittances in 2020, a drop of just 0.2 per cent from the previous year, despite a pandemic that devastated the world economy.In 2019, India had received USD83.3 billion in remittances.India and China are followed by Mexico (USD42.8 billion), the Philippines (USD34.9 billion), Egypt (USD29.6 billion),etc.
