Rajesh Bansal appointed as CEO of Reserve Bank Innovation Hub

The Board of Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) has appointed Rajesh Bansal as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the RBIH with effect from May 17, 2021, the RBIH said in a statement on May 22.

The Reserve Bank Innovation Hub would develop internal infrastructure to promote fintech research and facilitate engagement with innovators and start-ups.

U-17 Women's World Cup to be held in India in October 2022: FIFA

The U-17 women's World Cup will be held in India from October 11 to 30 next year.

India were earlier scheduled to host the 2020 U-17 World Cup but it was postponed to 2021 before being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

FIFA Council also approved the tournament dates for the Women's World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 from July 20 to August 20, 2023.

MRPL acquires 100% stake in ONGC Mangalore

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has acquired a balance of 0.0002% equity holding of ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (OMPL), a subsidiary of the company from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).

OMPL has now become a wholly-owned subsidiary of MRPL upon holding 100% shares.

Ram-Laxman was a pair of Ram aka Surendra Hendre and Vijay Patil aka Laxman.

Their debut film was 'Agent Vinod' for Rajshri productions.Even after the death of his partner Ram in 1976, Laxman composed music with the same name Ram-Laxman.

He had composed music for about 75 Hindi, Marathi and Bhojpuri films.The 1989 film ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ won him the Filmfare Award.

New mammal species discovered in India, characterised by dense fur, thick darker tail

Described as Crocidura narcondamica was discovered in the Andaman islands by scientists from the Zoological Survey of India. The latest discovery of shrew from the volcanic Narcondam island increases total number of catalogued Crocidura species in Indian checklist of mammals to 12.

Crocidura is a massive genetic group with 198 species found mostly in Africa,Europe & Asia
