Uttarakhand govt announces Vatsalya Yojana for children orphaned due to Corona

Uttarakhand has announced Chief Minister Vatsalya Yojana for orphaned children who have lost their parents due to Covid-19. Under the scheme, the State Government will make arrangements for their maintenance, education and training for employment up to the age of 21 yrs. They will get a maintenance allowance of 3000 Rs/ month & 5% horizontal reservation in government jobs.

India took part in Global Health Summit co-hosted by Italy

India has recently participated in the Global Health Summit, which is being co-hosted by Italy as the Chair of the G20 group and the European Commission this year. India represented by its Sherpa for G20 Suresh Prabhu at the meet. The key outcome of the Global health meet will be the "Rome Declaration" which will focus on lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Casper Ruud beats Denis Shapovalov to win Geneva Open title

Casper Ruud won the ATP Geneva Open final with a 7-6 (8/6), 6-4 victory over Denis Shapovalov. Victory in Geneva means the Norwegian world number 21 is going to be among the top 16 seeds in Paris.

A second career title lifted Ruud's record to 2-2 in finals, all at clay-court events. The 22-year-old Norwegian’s previous title was at Buenos Aires last year.

Collinet Makosso appointed Republic of Congo’s new Prime Minister

The President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso has appointed Anatole Collinet Makosso as the country’s Prime Minister.

Before this appointment, Makosso was the education minister of the Central African country since 2015.

He was also minister of youth and civic instruction from 2011 to 2016

BSE Hits Record $3-Trillion Market-Capitalization for the First Time Ever

The market capitalisation of all BSE-listed companies hit the $3 trillion mark for the first time. The rise in market cap came after Sensex closed 111 points higher at 50,651 and Nifty rose 22 points to 15,197. According to the depository data, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) withdrew Rs 6,370 crore from equities and pumped in Rs 1,926 crore in the debt segment.

NHA inks pact with Telangana government to implement Ayushman Bharat PMJAY-scheme

The National Health Authority (NHA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana to implement Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) in the state with immediate effect. The scheme has been integrated with the existing state scheme ‘Aarogyasri’ and is being called Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Aarogyasri.

NASA to send its first mobile robot to search for water on the moon in 2023

The US agency (as part of its Artemis program) is planning to send its first mobile robot to the Moon in late 2023 in search of ice and other resources on and below the lunar surface.

The Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover, or VIPER will collect data that would help NASA map resources at the lunar's South Pole.

VIPER runs on solar power.
