RBI approves re-appointment of Sandeep Bakhshi as ICICI Bank's MD & CEO

The Reserve Bank of India has approved the re-appointment of Sandeep Bakhshi as the managing director and chief executive officer of ICICI Bank.

The re-appointment will come into effect on October 15, 2021, and the tenure will continue till October 3, 2023.

The decision to re-appoint Bakhshi as the MD and CEO had received the nod of shareholders nearly two years ago.

Indian Army gets first batch of multi-mode hand grenades made by private sector firm

The first batch of Indian-made multi-mode hand grenades (MMHG), manufactured by a private firm, was delivered to the Indian Army in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at a ceremony in Nagpur.

The grenades will replace grenade no 36 of the World War I vintage design, which has continued in service till date. MMHGs are not just more lethal, but are safer to use.

Ganga Expressway: UP govt gets approval letter for ₹ 5100 crore loan from PNB

The Uttar Pradesh government received the sanction letter of ₹5100 crore loan for the 594-kilometre-long Ganga Expressway project from the Punjab National Bank (PNB) in the presence of Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and chief minister Yogi Adityanath at an event in Lucknow.

This expressway will be the longest in north India and the second longest in the country.

HAL signs $716 mn deal with GE Aviation for 99 engines for LCA Tejas

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL) signed a $716 mn deal with GE Aviation of the U.S. for 99 F404 aircraft engines and support services that will power the indigenous Tejas Light Combat Aircraft(LCA) Mk-1A.

In Feb, the Defence Ministry signed a ₹48,000 crore deal with HAL to supply 83 LCA-Mk1A to the IAF. This is the largest deal and the purchase order placed by HAL for LCA

With a view to provide succour to poor women borrowers who are not able to return the loan amount of Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs), the Assam government signed an MOU with Microfinance Institutions for implementation of Assam Micro Finance Incentive and Relief Scheme 2021 in Guwahati.

Altogether 38 MFIs and banks signed the MoU with the state government.
