MoS for Ayush Munjpara Mahedrabhai inaugurates Ayurveda Parv-2021

Minister of State for Ayush Munjpara Mahedrabhai inaugurated the Ayurveda Parv-2021 in New Delhi.

The three-day event has been organised to promote Ayurveda. An exhibition has been arranged with 40 stalls and participation of Pharmaceutical companies.

Ayurveda Parv has been organized for proper utilization of Ayurvedic health care and coordination in research & education.

Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim, whose work transformed musical theatre, passes away at 91

Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, who helped American musical theater evolve beyond pure entertainment and reach new artistic heights with such works as 'West Side Story', 'Into the Woods' and 'Sweeney Todd', died at the age of 91. Sondheim's eight Tony Awards for his lyrics and music surpassed the total of any other composer.

WHO declares B.1.1.529 Covid variant as a variant of concern, names it Omicron

The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared SARS-CoV-2 variant: B.1.1.529 as a new variant of concern named Omicron.

The Technical Advisory Group on SARS-CoV-2 Virus Evolution (TAG-VE), an independent group of experts that monitors and evaluates the evolution of SARS-CoV-2 held a meeting.

This variant has a large number of mutations, some of which are concerning.

Assam Electronics Development Corporation Limited (AMTRON) has signed a tripartite MOU with Mastercard Asia/Pacific Pte Ltd. and I-Sec Security Services Pvt. Ltd for setting up a strategic cyber intelligence centre of excellence at Tech City, Guwahati. The Cyber COE is envisaged to provide intelligence services to the Government of India, state governments, PSUs etc.

Union Minister of Animal Husbandry & Dairying Parshottam Rupala conferred the Gopal Ratna Award to the winners of the Best Dairy Farmer rearing indigenous cattle/buffalo breeds during the celebration of “National Milk Day” to commemorate the birth centenary of Dr Verghese Kurien.

The Gopal Ratna Award will set benchmarks and help adopt best practices and innovation.

2021 is a watershed year for India: Kumar Mangalam Birla

Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla said that 2021 has been a "watershed year" for the Indian economy after the reforms of 1991. 30 years after the first wave of reforms in 1991, this year has seen an investment boom in the country making India an economy of the size of USD three trillion. India is a fast growing economy with a diverse society.

RBI imposes Rs 1 crore fine on State Bank of India

The Reserve Bank of India has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 1 crore on the State Bank of India after an inspection found that the bank had held shares in borrower companies, as pledgee, of an amount exceeding 30% of paid-up share capital of those companies in contravention of RBI guidelines.

NTPC Renewable Energy signs PPA for 325 MW solar projects

NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, India's largest integrated energy company has signed a PPA (power purchase agreement) and other project agreements with Indian Railways, Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMCL), and Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (RUMSL) for 325 MW Solar Projects being installed in the RUMSL at Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.

Delhi govt adds Kartarpur Sahib in Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojna

The Delhi government will send senior citizens of the city on free pilgrimage to Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan. Kartarpur Sahib and Velankanni Church in Tamil Nadu have been added to the 'Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojna' after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's orders. The first batch of pilgrims to Kartarpur Sahib will leave in January, 2022 in a bus from Delhi.
