NCW Organizes Seminar on Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness

NCW in collaboration with Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) organized a one-day seminar on Anti Human Trafficking Awareness. It discussed introduction, concept, patterns and existing response systems of human trafficking and the psycho sociological impact of trafficking as well as the role of civil society organizations in its prevention.

IAF To Participate In Tactical Leadership Programme With Egyptian Air Force

Indian Air Force would be participating in Tactical Leadership Programme at Egyptian Air Force Weapon School from 24 Jun – 24 Jul 22 in Egypt.

It is a unique exercise with Air assets in a Large Force Engagement environment, simulating various conflict scenarios.

The exercise is aimed at enhancing defence cooperation between two countries and the exchange of best practices.

India Successfully Test-Fires VL-SRSAM Missile From Indian Naval Ship Off Odisha Coast

DRDO and the Indian Navy successfully flight-tested Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) from an Indian Naval Ship at Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the coast of Odisha. The VL-SRSAM, a ship-borne weapon system, is meant for neutralising various aerial threats at close ranges including sea-skimming targets.

Coal Ministry Action Plan to Enhance Coking Coal Production Substantially

India has produced 51.7 MT raw coking coal during the financial 2021-22 which is 15 % more as compared to 44.8 MT during FY21. Domestic raw coking coal production continues to witness increasing trend in the current fiscal as well with production of 8.3 MT, as per the figures up to May'22, which is 20% more compared to 6.9 MT during the same period of previous year.

Ambubachi Mela 2022: 4-day-long festival commences in Guwahati's Kamakhya temple

World Bank approves additional $250m to improve education results for children in Gujarat

The World Bank Board of Executive Directors today approved additional financing of $250 million for Outcomes for Accelerated Learning (GOAL), a program which aims to improve education results for children across the state of Gujarat. This financing will benefit an additional 3,000 schools that have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Consumption basket expanded, revamped consumer expenditure survey begins July 1

The government will launch fieldwork for the new Consumer Expenditure Survey on July 1, with the revamp including features such as three visits by an enumerator to a household to seek more detailed information on their consumption basket. The survey will cover around 1.2 lakh households in rural areas and around 84,000 households in urban areas.

The cities in India have fared poorly in the list of the world's most liveable cities. India's national capital New Delhi has been ranked 112th in the list of most liveable cities. While India's financial capital Mumbai is ranked at 117th position.

Austrian capital Vienna has once again topped the list of most liveable cities in the world in the list of 140 cities.
